My right eye had a infection in it. After telling them 3 different times I've got insurance that will cover my eye appointment and have used them 5 different times they told me that my insurance company did not cover it and they declined to take my insurance and then they told me that I owe them a $120 just to see the eye doctor to get some drops. If I could i would give them zero stars poor communication between them. They just had switched to a new system and I didn't think anybody was trained on the new system on how to look up to see if insurance was covered or not.

Chris was very professional and knowledgeable. He helped me pick out a couple of frames that fit my face and eyes appropriately. Their facility is clean and they carry a huge variety of frames. I just moved to Utah and fortunately found a this great provider for all of my vision needs.

I love Visionworks here in American Fork! Dr. Hawks gave me a very thorough exam, and he was not condescending. Yay! Emily was the picture of patience while she helped me pick out some frames. And Chris spent over an hour helping me fine-tune a pair of glasses I can wear specifically to play the organ in church. I have never had anyone spend that much time helping me get the perfect pair of glasses. I recommend Visionworks in American Fork to everyone!

Positives: professional, congenial staff, including an engaged & thorough optometrist (Dr. Nicolls). Also a goodly selection of frames. Suggestions for improvement & repeat business: follow the customer's lead, i.e. don't keep pushing an extra pair of unwanted glasses. Also, when a customer spends $200+ on glasses, it should be a no-brainer to include a courtesy cleaning cloth in the case. The pennies-on-the-dollar cost for such a cloth is much cheaper and will create greater goodwill then the potential cost / loss of repeat business (at least mine on principle) from the 'bad-taste' left when I asked about - but was told I'd have to purchase my own cloth for $1.99 :(
