Pretty great! Much bigger than when I was a kid and a larger selection of animals. My daughter loved it! She loves feeding the koi as much as I did as a child!

It is a pretty nice zoo and the prices are reasonable . We spent about two hours there and went slow, it's just right for a morning or afternoon adventure. It was not busy at all, which was nice. The only thing I could even complain about would be that the train wasn't running, but it is understandable due to the heat index being overr 100. Other than that the only suggestion I could make is that they should stay open later in the evening so that it is cool enough that the animals will come out. Most of the bigger animals weren't out due to the heat.

Nice little zoo. Had a lot of different birds and animals that I had never seen before, even at much larger zoos. Admission was reasonable and the paths were 90% shaded, which is a huge bonus in the central Louisiana heat.

A MUST DO!! With kids of any age! The pathways are perfect for keeping your toddler on track (lol), I could see it getting congested on the weekends though. But a weekday is the perfect time to visit if you can. The exhibits were at eye level for kids which is amazing. Very stroller friendly. So many animals including lions, leopards, wolves, alligators, birds, snakes, fish, bears, monkeys and many more! What an affordable way to spend a few hours! We loved our time here!!

No, although Falcons fans actually have a mental problem they are really charged more because of poor taste
I know that my niece's class went for a field trip and they were slow to take a sack lunch. It's possible.
There is no set schedule for when the baby otters are viewable. It is at the mother otter's discretion to bring them outdoors or keep them inside. Sometimes she will keep them outside all day and other days she only brings them out for a few minutes. As the pups get older, they will spend more time outdoors.
There are hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, chips, snow cones and other misc things.
The Party for the Planet on Saturday is just general admission. FOTAZ members get in free with membership card.
I recently bought a family membership at the entrance. They gave me a temporary card, th6 real one will come by mail. I think you could print your receipt and use it as the temporary card

Not so much. It starts to pick up around summertime and holidays. Also they have festivals and events such as Les Fest that attracts more people.

We spent 5 hours but I have a 4 year old who wanted to keep riding the train and going back thru again. Just walking thru and riding the train once about an hour and a half
It is still the same hours that day
You can find a list of species here: http://thealexandriazoo.com/Animals.html
I am so sorry it has been a while since I last visited the Alexandria Zoo. I don't remember the price, but I know that it wasn't overpriced. Alexandria Zoo was always very nice, worth to visit.
He was hanging out near the front part of the zoo 2 Saturdays ago. I don't think they let you hold. A safari park would be your best bet
Yes. The sloth is behind the monkeys by the train.
I called and they said yes but none of the outlets by the tables worked. I also asked the lady in the gift shop about using one in there but she said no so I ended up using the defrost in my vehicle.
I think it might be a little bit smaller, but I really enjoy this zoo and it's taken care of better than other zoo's of the same size.
Dustin Juneau, you will enjoy this zoo it is not huge but don't let that fool you. It's really fun. I do suggest you don't waste your money on the train ride. My grandkids and myself road it, really didn't see anything and it was a VERY short ride. Have fun ,enjoy

Besides the education building almost all indoor exhibits are small reptiles (snakes, turtles, lizards etc.) or fish (two different fish buildings in Louisiana Habitat one is very small and the other is bigger but really 1 large tank and 4 or 5 small exhibits around it)
Yes, but the concessions are not always open during the week. I'd recommend calling ahead and asking if you're planning to eat lunch there.
No a one year old is free. But the train ride is $2.00
Actually, the wheelchairs are free, they just hold an ID to make sure they are returned
No wheelchairs that I am familiar with. Just carts and wagons for young kids

I have no clue. But the zoo and the environment was awesome!! Clean and lots of animals. Didn't smell either.
Not sure
How much is it to get into the zoo?
Yes, $7.50 for adults $5.50 for kids $2.00 for train
Not sure about individual prices, but I would suggest getting a FOTAZ membership they pay for themselves quickly if you go on a regular basis and are accepted all over the country.
The train runs the whole day. But usually departs every 15 minutes. Amazing ride this time of year, they have it lit up for Christmas 💗
