Susan and her team made the entire process so easy. I didn’t have to worry about anything with my dress or veil and they turned out beautiful.

The place is nice but the owner has a serious Alzheimer's problem that makes her forget conversations and also appointments. I am a fashion designer, couture seamstress and tailor and responded to a post they placed online looking for people with my qualifications to work as an independent contractor. Susan was far from kind and she was finally looking for people to work from her studio and paying only minimum wage. She made me lose valuable time, forgot appointments she made and even responding to my emails blaming me for mistakes such as not bringing a resume or pictures of my work while she told me a week before that she loved my work and the email was directed to a male (that I am not) She never even apologized. If you are a young graduate with no experience maybe this can ad to your resume but it is not a good place to work for someone with extensive experience.

I loved my experience at The Wedding Dresser. It was super easy to book the fittings online, and the location is in Industry City, a fun and cool place in BK. Susan and her team are very prompt and professional at each fitting. The result was a wedding dress that fits like a glove, and I was ecstatic. I felt so comfortable in my dress that I decided to forgo a reception outfit. The process was comprehensive, and they provided extra good-to-know stuff, such as the bustling of your dress which you will want. Also, they have a great selection of undergarments and accessories that will go with any style of wedding dress. I purchased some items from them, so I didn't have to waste my time shopping elsewhere. Overall, they were excellent, and I highly recommend them.

Hi Anna Thank you for your inquiry. We specialize in restyling and resizing vintage dresses. I do a special hand wash that removes yellowing on most dresses. We have several tricks for resizing vintage wedding dresses to make the dress bigger. If you have a photo of the dress you can send I can be more specific. When is the wedding? Would you like to make an appointment for your daughter to bring the dress in? Best Susan Ruddie Spring
We do offer cleaning and preservation. That means we send your dress to our local wedding gown cleaning specialist. Your gown is cleaned, aired out to remove caustic fumes and lightly steamed. Your wedding gowns is then packed in a museum quality acid free box stuffed with acid free tissue. The box can then be shipped back to wherever you want it stored. Cleaning and preservation for your dress and 3 dry cleanable accessories is $375. Shipping is free. Alterations clients get $75 off.
For alterations pricing I usually start with some pricing background. Most Bridal shops charge a flat rate for the 3 usual alterations - taking in the sides of the bodice or skirt, hemming the front and doing a bustle for the train. The flat rates range from $800 - $1195 at designer salons. Our price for those three alterations on dresses ordered in your size usually range from $450 - $950 depending on the details of the dress. If you can send me the style of your dress I would be happy to send you a guesstimate or to arrange a virtual consultation for pricing. You can schedule your virtual fitting consultation right on our website.
There is such a wide variety of styles of wedding dresses those prices range widely. Taking in the sides averages $90 - $250. Bustles range from $75 - $350. We offer virtual consultations on zoom or facetime where i can give you a much closer estimate. You are also welcome to send me a photo or link for a guesstimate.
We prefer to have 6-8 weeks but our rush service is 3 fittings in 4 days
Hi Hallie It may be a lot of work as we may need to open all the seams but we are happy to take a look.
Yes. We tailor prom dresses, cocktail dresses and any kind of party dress. If you are still shopping we have a great list of reputable online retailers.
For taking in the sides and hemming bridesmaid dresses or party dresses average $150 - $250. Beaded gowns or dresses with very full hems can go higher.
Most dresses need a full set of alteration - taking in the sides, hemming the front and creating a bustle for the train. Those 3 alterations range from $250 - $850 on dresses ordered in your size.
For alterations we prefer to have 8 - 12 weeks to work with a Bride, 2-3 weeks for maids and party dresses. We are happy to accommodate rush Brides. Our express service is 3 fittings in 4-5 days.
Hi Sandra We do not sell maids dresses. We alter maids, Brides nd all sorts of party dresses. We also sell a full line of Bridal and evening wear accessories, veils and jewelry, and a Bridal Emergency Bar for all of your other needs. If you need gown shopping sources feel free to give us a call. Best Susan
