I had a very great experience at this location ! The attendant was very kindhearted, empathetic, and cordial and greeted not only myself but strived to welcome everyone entering the establishment. She went above and beyond when it came to explaining the selling process and was very efficient in her work. The staff in the store was very friendly. Items on the racks were in fantastic condition for great prices and stylish as well which in return lets you know the staff is extremely knowledgeable and unbiased. An issue i did have however was that i received a low offer for prestige pieces of clothing but there is an advantage to being able to recycle items quickly and make profit back as well for what you would otherwise donate so i can’t complain. The store was very clean, neat, and organized more so then any uptown or plato’s i’ve visited in Maryland. They are also always very quick to answer a call and are attentive to any questions or concerns you may have and happily strive to solve them. The store hours are long which allows you to shop with ease. Overall a great experience i left the store content. Would definitely refer anyone to this location 🫶🏻

Good selection but frustrating selling experience. I’ve sold here before and sometimes it’s fine, other times it’s frustrating and unreliable. They give you an estimated time and it’s rarely accurate. I came in at ~1:10pm and they said I had to stay in store until 2pm if I wanted to sell, but they would prioritize mine. I didn’t want to buy anything and they don’t have any seating so I had to wait on a ledge because there’s nowhere else to go. I was still waiting by 2:10pm and people who were told they needed to come back at 2 were told they haven’t been gone through yet and either had to come back by 4 or bring their items back tomorrow. They starting going through it around 2:15pm. I understand they’re understaffed, but the manager needs to figure something out so this doesn’t happen again. It also seemed like they were rushing at the end and weren’t taking anything from anyone. Also, they have a lot of Shein items that sell for basically the same price as what you would get online which I feel like isn’t worth it.

This place is has master advertising and social media because they will try to give you pennies literally for something there going to sell for cash I hugecwaste of time and energy your better off online if you have patience for but unless you just want to give to them and stay in business myself I wouldn’t donate for tax

I visited Plato’s Closet in Timonium, Maryland on Sunday, August 21st, 2022. The prior evening, I called the store to ensure they would be “buying” the following day, as I live In Sykesville, which is 47-49 minutes away. They said to arrive at/about opening time and they would be more than happy to serve me! I arrived at approximately 12:45pm on the 21st, with three tote bags of clothes in hand. My items were either new or very gently used pieces, ranging from sweaters, jackets, many t-shirts, tanks, to short sleeve and tank dresses. Directly next door to the store is a Rita’s Italian Ice. I politely asked the employees if they minded if I quickly ran next door to bring back with me a snack; they agreed. I was gone for maybe 2-3 minutes before I returned. Upon returning, they immediately called me over to the counter. I was informed that they would not be accepting ANY of my items, as they “were all fall clothes.” That was all the explanation that I got. I was very confused because that was in fact, not the case. (They were indeed NOT all fall clothes…by any means, and are fall clothes banned?) I felt that there was no way that in the 2 minutes I was gone, they would have been able to thoroughly sort through all of my belongings in order to see what was of value, let alone do any research on the items. Plus, this was after the fact of letting them know that I traveled specifically there all the way from Sykesville, through small talk. I did not bring up this concern to them in person, and was very polite when turned down. Overall, I felt completely dismissed. There was no time spent on this transaction, whether that be out of laziness, being sidetracked, having “more important” things to do; whatever the case may be. This is an extremely poor customer service experience and put an awful taste in my mouth for this company. After the fact when I grabbed my bags and was about to exit the store, they even asked me if i wanted to stick around to browse and shop their inventory. I have worked in customer service for 8 years, and know firsthand that this interaction was not handled properly.
