Absolutely nothing beats this place. I doubt that there are a handful of places more magical or of greater size and impressiveness in the entire United states. This is worth going on your bucket list. Get 50 of your favorite friends and spend a week or two up here.

What is the elevation at Timber Moose Lodge? Are the roads clear in February?

Timber Moose is just shy of 8000 feet elevation, around 7950. There is always snow on the ground in February but the roads are plowed and (normally) drivable.

When was timber lodge built

Hi Richard, Timber Moose was built in stages. The original building of about 7,500 square feet was built around 1980, a 10,000 feet addition was done in 1997-99 and 8,000 feet in 2003-5. Significant renovations were made in 2012 and 2016, and the most recent renovations were just completed last month, adding a bathroom for the Sundance room (increasing the total number of bathrooms to 17), completely remodeling the Lake bathroom to put the sink, shower, and toilet in different compartments.

What is the rental cost per night or week. Is it different at different times of the year

The price is different, depending on time of year and day of the week. There is a website, that will show availability. It is cost effective if you have a large group.

$3K/night. Sleeps up to 50. We had about 20, all got their own room/bed. Place is spectacular!
