Boone History Center

Museum will be opening again June 19th. Thursday through Saturday, 10-2.

The Mondt hotel was located at the corner of Story and 7th street, where the later Fareway store was located. The Mondt hotel shared the block with Fareway and the Masonic Temple, with Fareway in the middle. There was a fire at Fareway which also damaged the Mondt hotel, which lead to the hotel being torn down and moved across the street, to the location where the Dutch Oven Bakery currently stands. Fareway spread out to take the rest of the block and rebuilt their store and the still standing parking garage in their old store park of the block. The old Fareway building still currently stands and has been a few restaurants since. It is now closed.
