As a tax preparer and church volunteer, I have requested meetings with the taxpayer assistance office In Town & Country Missouri over many years. Several times I have met with a Ms. Shrive of that office for assistance concerning ITIN applications, Tax return amendments, and identify theft. Ms Shrive has provided the best guidance in some difficult areas, which has expedited resolution. Thank you Ms Shrive.

I received a letter saying someone filed a tax in my name for 2021 I am retired and it was not me Tried to verify my identity on line and couldn't get it to go through Ineed an appt to get this fixed
We filed our taxes on Feb. 12th using Turbo Tax and received both Fed & State refunds within two weeks. However we have yet to receive our third stimulus as of May 10th 2021, The IRS website GET MY PAYMENT just states we are eligible and when a date is set the 2,800 will be deposited in our account. However this information since March has never changed to state a date for the deposit. Please let us know if we need to come into the office to trace our payment. Since we were one of the first ones to file, we assumed we would be getting our third stimulus soon after filing. We hope you can lead us in the right direction as to what to do next. Hi Misael, I do not think that someone speaks Spanish in that office, but you can ask for an interpreter, it is your right to have one. Or you can talk to the IRS and have service in Spanish. Luck
An amended return normally takes 2 to 4 months, but with all the closures and employee shortages, it is taking longet.
