Usually plenty of parking. Very beautiful hike in all seasons. Suggest bringing micro spikes gets pretty icy at the beginning.

I don't believe you can right on the trail. However, there is a shelter right in the Dalton section. Another shelter about 10 miles away near Cheshire.
