The people who work in this place really understand how bad those who are down on their luck have it. I never feel judgmental vibes or anything negative. In fact, the ladies who work the desk are the sweetest! I know a lot of people think those of us who need food stamps or help from the government are just lazy moochers -heck, I've been told to my face!- but the reality is that in our country, the most expensive thing you can do is being poor. This place literally saved my life when my son's father left us homeless when our baby was 10 months old. I was at the end of my rope, staying with various family members and I went in here and one of those ladies greeted me pleasantly and helped me through all the stuff I was confused about. Soon after, I had enough food for my son, I could continue nursing and they helped me find a job that would work with me and a near-toddler. I owe these people my life and the freedom I have now to give my son the life he really deserves. If you need help, please go to them. They are going to do everything in their power to help you.
