How can I give an accurate review when part of the hospital care was great and the other part was awful??? My elderly father has been admitted to this hospital twice in the past 6 months. The nursing care has been very good. Friendly and attentive nurses that aren’t paid nearly enough for all that they do ! We have seen the nurses go above and beyond their duties. The cafeteria was awful ! Let me say this again - the cafeteria is awful! They have such limited hours and anyone having to stay at the hospital with their loved one better be prepared to eat out of a vending machine. My dad was being served his dinner at 4:15pm and most days it was cold!!! The cafeteria closes in between meals so you can’t even go down to grab a quick meal or snack unless you’re lucky enough to get there during the 5 minutes they’re open. NOTE to administration: The cafeteria needs to be open ALL DAY. Families visiting patients who are hospitalized for any length of time need a place to go get a drink, snack, meal or just to sit and talk. This is totally UNACCEPTABLE!

Last week my son was transported to Gulf Coast Hospital from FWB ER to be evaluated by Dr. Taylor to decide whether he would need to do surgery. From start to finish I was informed every step, every detail In a way that I could truly understand it. Dr. Taylor’s team Of nurses were also nothing short of amazing and I will never forget the care my son received at this hospital. Being treated with such outstanding care, Dr. Taylor restored my son back to health and I can’t thank him and his team Of nurses and staff enough.

This is the worst hospital ever... My husband was in the ICU and passed, they refused to let me see him when I got there. They said that "they had already bagged him" and said rigor mortis starts to set in .. Which we know... But we live an hour away and it was in the middle of the night so we had to process and get ready. We got there about 2 1/2 hours (rigor mortis starts anywhere between 2 and 6 hours) the funeral home had NO problem letting us see him, and it has been 13 hours. This hospital broke my heart and didn't even care, I don't understand how people can be so cruel. We love you and will miss you Daniel Huddleston 9/18/1953 -- 3/18/2022

We just had our first baby there! Gulf Coast took care of my wife and our baby boy! In all the excitement there were a few names that stood out to us the most. Of course, we appreciate everyone but Lacey, Mallory, and Vanessa were the best!! When we arrived Vanessa was our RN and she was absolutely amazing. She helped my wife feel as relaxed as she could be. She really brought the most pleasant vibe of the experience. Anyone that can give my wife peace and comfort during a time like that deserves a medal!! Mallory the midwife delivered our sweet baby boy & was very encouraging during the most extreme part of it all. We had heard nothing but good things about her before and we’re very happy to have her there. Last but not least Lacey was our RN post birth. She was so sweet & resourceful. Thank you so much helping us get where we need to be at so we could take our baby home! Thank you to all of the Gulf Coast staff. We are forever grateful for everyone who helped us get our baby boy’s life started!

They are open and my little 6 year old had to have surgery in Jan. They had exceptional customer service.

Preparation for the Procedure You will be asked to follow the Limited Carbohydrate diet for the previous 24 hours before the date of your appointment. Do not eat or drink anything, except water, for 6 hours before the exam. You may drink water, as much water as you can would be helpful, until arrival. Routine medications may be taken, unless you have been instructed otherwise. If you are diabetic, you may take your diabetes medication no less than 4 hours prior to the exam.
I think it depends on the nurse. While going in for the delivery of our son the night nurses were outstanding this time. (nurse Carla was a saint). However the nurse who discharged us was short with us, unhelpful, rude, condescending and rushed us to leave.
probably 10 hours.
No, have nothing positive to say about that hospital.
Well we waited over 7 hours the pediatric patients are seen quicker.
