Writing from a teacher perspective: We took our Biology students (10th Grade) on a field trip to the Gulf Coast Research Lab every year. The staff were amazing, friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and worked with the students very well. The activities were fun and educational, the food was very good (catered), and we loved spending time on campus. If you are a teacher looking for a fun science field trip focused on marine biology, I highly recommend the GCRL!

There is research done at GCRL that does environmental water monitoring, but the facility does not test water as a service.
No. There are a couple housing units on campus that students can sometimes use temporarily while they find other housing, but all of the grad students live off campus in houses our apartments
