Google Search found that it was deceptive due to it being 30 minutes away from Starved Rock. And it's not pet friendly. There are plenty of hotels closer to Starved Rock than this one. It is revamped from what it was and room was clean and updated. The downfall to that was that there is a piece of trim pulled away from the wall in the bathroom and the wall is torn up. It's sort of creepy that there is a hole in the bathroom wall for sure. The curtain is so far away from the window that if you leave a light on and walk to the bathroom, you can see from the outside. Don't walk around naked. I put the chair up against the door and tucked the curtain behind it. There is no security lock on the inside of the door. The bed was ok and seemed updated but very firm. There were plenty of pillow choices and the sheets were nice. While the AC was sort of loud, it worked well. The TV was nice. There was a desk in the room as well. Someone put in comments that there were no amenities in room like hair dryer. That is inaccurate. There was a hair dryer and shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispenser in bath. There was a lighted make-up mirror in sink area that had a magnifier on one side. Also in a website search was that it was pet friendly. This is NOT TRUE. There is a sign that says no pets, no smoking, vaping, etc. You could be subject to a $250 cleaning fee. While there was noise outside coming from another room, when I got inside, I could not hear it above me. The ceiling is solid cement and you cannot hear anyone walking around above you. The same cannot be said for the traffic on Bloomington St/state route 23 the next morning. If you like to golf, Anderson Field is across the street and is a small city golf course. The lights in the lobby make it look a bit tacky, like they want you to come in and gamble. If there was a breakfast, I did not participate. There is a McDonald's less than a mile south of there. Check-in staff was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. He seemed to say as little as possible and acted like he wanted me to leave as soon as I got there. I was made to sign 3 different papers. It's kind of dark in that area and at night, the bar behind the lobby was loud. The parking lot was a little rough and there is a bus out there that looked as if it was for migrant field workers. It was sort of hard to see the lines and was somewhat unmaintained. It is cheaper than the other hotel in town, but this is a motel and your room door goes directly outside. Your car can be parked right outside your room. I'd stay here again just for the AC working well. It would be better if you could delete the trash channels that only wanted you to buy something and not provide real programming. And the remote either needed a new battery or it just didn't work that great. Cleaning staff should check that or batteries should be changed regularly because that was annoying to try and change channels. Customers who pay for that want things to work correctly. There is a Walmart and Kroger close-by and Dig Doug's BBQ is awesome (if the wind is right, you can smell the smoking of ribs) and a Dairy Queen very close. Jimmy Johns is also close and will deliver. There is also a movie theatre close by. If you cut through the parking lots, you can walk it in no time at all.

Hotel was a little dated, but clean. Radio had built in USB ports but had been pushed in. But staff allowed us to borrow a cube to charge our phones. Everyone friendly. A few people hanging outside the rooms in the evening. But very well lit. Even inside room appeared like daylight coming in, all night long and beds were hard. But I still slept ok. Ac worked well and shower was hot. Beds were clean. And they did provide a sausage biscuit and granola bar w coffee for breakfast to be warmed up in your room. I wasn't expecting any free breakfast so that was a plus. Also a bar was located inside, but we couldn't hear anything from our rooms.

I stayed here for a few days and we had our family reunion in their event space. Very nice lounge and space to hang out with our family. The staff was incredible!
