This review is for any parents looking for early intervention or even just an evaluation. When my son was 15 months I felt something wasn’t quite right because he wasn’t meeting his milestones. I started researching some of this and “autism” kept popping up. I thought my son definitely met some of the criteria, so I talked with his pediatrician. We agreed to get him evaluated, and so the search for a place began. I noticed quickly that ABC had the best reviews. I also had a friend whose son attended and she recommended this place as well. The first person I talked to at ABC was so sweet and explained the process very well. We then had our evaluation which consisted of an hour conversation with myself and a therapist and then they observed my son for awhile. The therapist was very nice and made me feel so comfortable through the entire evaluation. My son’s doctor confirmed that he needed therapy. Now it was time to determine if ABC was the place for us. Whitney, the Clinic Manager, was the first person we talked to. Being new to autism, my emotions were everywhere and I had many questions. Whitney was so sweet and listened intently as I shared my journey about my son. She was patient with all my questions and made sure I understood everything. By the time we left, I knew this was the place for my son. Lesther is my son’s BCBA who is in charge of his plan and his team of therapists. She has such a positive attitude about everything, even when discussing some tough stuff. I meet with her every 2 weeks. At every meeting she provides me with updated packets on what my son is currently working on which shows the progress he’s making as well as what he’s struggling with. This helps tremendously at home! She also uploads pictures and videos of him to a drive so that we can see the fun he’s having! She does a great job making sure each meeting we have is meaningful. I’m so glad my son is on her team! Lesther’s team of therapists are phenomenal! My family has gotten to interact with each of them and they are all so sweet and compassionate. When dropping my son off every morning we are greeted with smiles and kindness. When he’s having a rough morning they are very good at calming him down quickly. At pick up every day they tell us how his day went and what they did with him. Nadine, the Clinic Admissions Associate, works at the front desk and she’s amazing! She is so bubbly and welcoming every time I come in. She is very quick to return any phone call or email and takes the time to get to know all the kids and their families. She even goes out of her way to occasionally send pictures of my son or share about a moment with him that she thinks would be special to me. My son started therapy 11 months ago. He wasn’t talking, making eye contact, responding to his name, or pointing at things. In less than a year, he responds to his name, points at everything, makes great eye contact, plays well with peers, follows instructions, and is now working on 2 word phrases. The progress he’s made is tremendous!! If you’re looking for ABA therapy for your child, ABC is a wonderful place. The work they’ve done with my son is amazing! The great thing about this place is that every person shows compassion and kindness to the families going through this journey. But the best part is the love and care they show towards my son. As a mother it gives me great comfort knowing he’s in good hands.

I started my special girl here in the Fall last year. She loves it and so do I! They have great communication and I can always speak to the BCBA when I need to and the teachers are great. My daughter was mostly non verbal when she started. I wanted a center that I felt comfortable with and felt very open. My husband and I saw improvement within the first 2-3 weeks! I am happy to say that was just the beginning. So many great things have happened I never thought to see. They also are taking precautions during the Pandemic which is great. All in all this is a great place, if you're looking for quality ABA this is the place!

Our Journey with our daughter at ABA Therapy of Autism has been awesome. They took care of her like their own child and the learning has produced a lot of tremendous results. It has only been 5 months and she moved from not coordinating with instructions to smiles, high 5, best interactions, taking care of others with passion, making puzzles etc. Every morning she look forward to meet her teachers and friends by leading us to putting on her shoes and to the car immediately after breakfast.

I have worked for ABC for over a year now and every day am inspired by the love our teams have for our kiddos. ABC takes care of our teammates to ensure they, in turn, provide excellent care to our kiddos and families. I am so proud to work here and that I get to be part of our family’s lives.

How will ABA therapy help my child?

ABA therapy will address the developmental deficiencies identified during an initial assessment of your child’s functioning across dozens of areas. With children on the autism spectrum, this often includes areas of verbal communication, like the ability to converse with parents and peers, request items, and communicate emotions and needs. Nonverbal communication, like making gestures and understanding social cues, can also be developed. Other important target areas of ABA include social skills, play skills, potty training, self-care skills (brushing teeth, washing hands, etc.), and day-to-day living skills (getting dressed, table manners, etc.).

What happens at an ABA treatment center?

First and foremost, a child and a therapist will “pair,” meaning they will simply take time to play, get comfortable with each other, and establish a good relationship. Based on a child’s individualized treatment plan, specific therapy goals will be worked on each day. Therapists will collect data on the success rate with each goal, and once a goal is mastered, children will move on to the next. Common therapy goals might include pointing to objects to indicate want or need, playing appropriately with toys, matching pictures and objects, learning sounds and words, potty training, and so much more.

What does ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) stand for?

Applied Behavior Analysis is likely a phrase that you haven’t used much in your life. Let’s break it down: -Applied (this is an applied, or practical, method that we use). -Behavior (we all have an intuitive sense of this word – behavior is what people do) -Analysis (the study or investigation into something) Applied Behavior Analysis seeks to understand why a child does something (analyzing behavior) and then applies this within the child’s individualized lessons. An example: a child screams loudly. We’ll work to understand why the child screams – this is called the “function” of the behavior. If we can understand why the screaming occurs (the child is triggered by a small change in routine), we can then do something about it (slowly introduce the child to different kinds of transitions, work on regulating emotions).

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are passionate about ABA therapy and all that it can do. A BCBA is a master’s or doctoral-level healthcare practitioner that uses the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to assist with developmental issues, especially autism spectrum disorders. At Action Behavior Centers, our BCBAs have multiple years of experience working with children of a wide range of ages and functions. Our Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are certified through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. In addition, before being paired with a Kiddo for 1:1 therapy, each RBT is provided with extensive on-site training to ensure they have the skills to effectively help children with a range of behavioral challenges. Our team members are very excited to help make a difference in the lives of you and your family members.
