I didn't know what I should expect when booking. It was 2a.m. when I got in. My room was clean and comfortable. Kudos to your clean staff...she was most welcoming. I wished I'd visited when the steak house and little cottages where in use😉hint hint.

I booked this hotel online through Hotwire, I didn’t choose this hotel, just a 2 star hotel in sun Prairie, WI, . I was on a business trip. I got to the hotel at 9:45pm and there was no one in the lobby. I rang their bell and then called on the lobby phone. The guy told me I was on the “do not rent list” and refused me service. I’ve never been to this hotel, I'm not from this area, and Im not the sort of person who does things that get them on such lists. I asked how I was on this list, the guy wouldn’t explain, he first said I wasn’t charged for the hotel stay, which I was. Then he said I should ask for a refund from Hotwire. So I booked a different hotel a few minutes away and contacted Hotwire. They refused to help, said they had to obey the hotel’s cancellation policy, and had no way of knowing if I was on this hotel’s “do not rent list”. I’m going to fight the charges but this place is definitely running a scam. I’m here to warn others as there’s not much else I can do tonight.

You can tell that some people never leave their town often, because otherwise they would know there are more unpleasant hotels in the world than this one. If you're expecting a 5-star room for $50, you really should get out of the house more. This place is perfect for what it is...A discreet cash crash pad centrally located in Sun Prairie and only minutes from Madison.

I booked a room through Expedia for two nights with my best friend. We were in town for a wedding and this place seemed budget friendly. Well you definitely get what you pay for. The second we drove up, we had a gut feeling we should leave. You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover so we just decided to check-in and check it all out. The outside of the motel looks run down with no parking spots. The landscaping needed a lot of TLC. We walk in to check-in and there’s this overwhelming, strong scent. Kind of like when you forget your laundry in the washer for days. We got our key and walked to our room. The second we stepped into the back corridor to get to our room, we hear loud moaning, and again, that same overwhelming smell that made me nauseous. We opened our door and were surprised to see how small and cramped the room was. The bathroom sink wasn’t even in the bathroom. We sat down and started looking at other reviews of this place. Rookie mistake, ALWAYS look up reviews BEFORE you book the room. “There was mold in the shower in my room” “Looked like a crackhouse. Right away I feared for the safety of my family. Then we IMMEDIATELY found a bedbug” We felt very uncomfortable and unsafe so we just left. Didn’t even think to check-out or hand in the key. Just up and left to a different hotel. We called Expedia to try and get our money refunded, but of course it was denied. I will never stay at McGovern’s. If you have the budget and option to stay elsewhere, take it. Because this place is definitely not worth it.
