In a very uncomfortable situation everyone goes out of their way to make you feel like your cared for and your donation means something. Shout out to Rosie “You’re the best”!! We want more “DONUTS”.

This site has the unfriendliest staff. 45 minutes later and they still hadn't started taking my blood. AND the guy who told to me to sit and wait took someone ahead of me!!! I'm sorry, but I had to walk out. I'll try again next week.

Nice people working there. Wish the process was faster especially for repeat donors. Website needs an update

I was extremely disappointed with my last experience at the Paramus donating center. The staff there seem disorganized, ill-trained and not really interested in their jobs. First and foremost, what is the point of setting up an online appointment if I still have to wait 45 minutes to be set up for my donation? They seem to not have a handle on some of the technology they are using (tablets used for screening questionnaire) and for the most part, their work flow seems extremely inefficient. A gentleman walked in shortly after me and I saw 4 different people ask him if had already been registered...4 different people. The person who screened me did not know how to use the tablet and kept calling for help because she did not know how to navigate the program; after finally moving onto the back area to give my donation, the phlebotomist kept questioning me about having ever been there before and if I had ever donated plasma. It wasn't until I showed her my online account on my phone and the 4 plasma donations I have made since 2016 that she finally believed me, she seemed unsure of her abilities during the entire process. She then couldn't find my vein on my arm, a problem I have NEVER had before, and I confirmed several times that I had consume a significant amount of water because I knew I was going in for a blood donation. I explained that I have a 1-year old at home and getting away for even a few hours for a blood donation is not an easy feat, so I encouraged her to try my other arm, which she declined to do. Her response was "I hope you can come back". I was really looking forward to this donation since I tested positive for Covid antibodies and I know that my blood can help others, but this was a terrible experience and I will NOT BE GOING BACK to the Paramus donation center. That location has really gone down in quality over the years, and definitely not for the better.

No, this is a non-profit and they do not compensate donors. You do get the satisfaction of knowing you've helped out patients in need of blood, and they give you sweet and salty snacks after your donation. You can also earn points to redeem for gift cards.

Do they pay for donations
