This agency went above and beyond to help me. I went through the training center program which gave me a tremendous opportunity to prepare for my future job. They allowed me to be able to leave when I had medical appointments.

From about 1987 thru 1991 I saw a VR counselor weekly. Some times I was in such distress that he even saw me in the office on an emergency basis. He was very honest, frank and compassionate. Filling out a form recently I realized I can't remember his name. I do remember his wife had throat cancer and that was very sad. If anyone might remember his name I would really appreciate hearing from you. [email protected]

VR assists eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to find and maintain employment, including those released from prison. The first step would be to contact your local office to determine eligibility. Once eligibility is established, they will help you with a plan and appropriate, applicable training to help you find a job.
Thanks for reaching out. VR helps eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to become and stay employed, including those with addiction issues. The first step would be to talk to a VR counselor to determine eligibility. Once eligibility is established, staff would work with you on a vocational goal and plan for employment. If you go to https://www.scvrd.net/offices you'll find a list of our offices. Contact the one closest to you to get started.
If you are on disability or SSI I'm pretty sure they can send you in the right direction for any thing
Thank you for your question. Our website has an email function for each local office. That would be the best way for him to request records.
