My Mother and I planned a trip to Cass Railroad and needed a place to stay. I realized that our possibility of finding a chain hotel/motel was slim pickings because we knew that the area near Cass Railroad is rural. But, we decided to try our luck on this place. Once entering the office, I nearly turned away looking for another hotel (the office especially I found to be very, very run down and in poor condition). But, I realized that our pickings for a motel/hotel of any sort was very limited and decided to see what was in store here. I will say that the room itself was (surprisingly, I must admit) clean and orderly. And, realistically, the room offered anything most people would want while staying: a mini fridge, bed lamps with cell phone chargers, coffee, place to hang/store clothing, etc. The pool itself was very nice, but, the floor of the pool is uneven (for example, the sides of the pool aren't straight up and down, it curves on the ground). It would be helpful (and more safe) for them to paint the areas where it is uneven to prevent people stubbing there toes or other injuries. Mother and I used the pool for the two days we stayed and it is not heated. Very cold when you get in, but, after being in the pool for a while you do get used to it. Mother and I stayed here on a Tuesday and Wednesday in which, sadly, both the restaurant and the bar were closed. I was told by the office staff that the bar is open Thursday-Saturday and apparently the restaurant isn't open. This was not mentioned on their website. But, just 2 miles down the road in Marlinton itself, there are a variety of places to go so it turned out to be a minor issue. Would I stay here again? Possibly. I wouldn't rule it out but I would check for other options making this my last option.

Great place for skiers. Big rooms with nostalgic decor. Neat bar, but the locals are NOT friendly. Nearly got into a bar fight, because of an lgbt person in our group.

This is a great little inn with a straight shot to snowshoe! It has a bar/restaurant and the owner really takes pride in his place! We met him many times and he was nothing but friendly as can be and ensuring we had a good stay! The rooms are a bit outdated but we were just staying to go snowboarding, so it worked fine for us! There was cable and wifi, so we had entertainment! Definitely will be visiting again!

ποΈWhat a great spot with wonderful people! Earl is amazing and such a great guy to be around. All the ladies are also so sweet and helpful. We are staying over a week and most of the time is has been nice and quiet. The rooms are a good size and pretty clean. No microwave and Verizon is a no go but the internet is fantastic! πΏThe shower is hot and has great pressure. Can't beat the price, location, and people here. Thanks, we will be return guests in the near future!
