An MD recommended that I go see an ophthalmologist after a really bad eye problem that put me in an ER about 44 hours prior to seeing Dr. Chang. I am sure Dr. Chang is extremely smart and might be a amazing eye surgeon, but had 3 problems with Cornea Consultants 1. I asked the receptionist who booked the appointment if I could get my eye prescription for contacts sorted at the same time while I was seeing the ophthalmologist.. Amazingly, she did not seem to understand and I explained that usually you need to get fitted and need a script every year or two to get new contacts..., etc. She said the dr. should be able to get everything sorted when you speak with him. When I saw Dr. Chang, he told me I would need another appointment as the contact guy was not in the office that day. 2. Dr. Chang appeared to be overbooked and rushed - I understand the surgeons are extremely busy and he did not have any history on me, but he just glanced at my eyes, gave just 3-4 extremely basic words of description like "clear retina" to his assistant/PA and told me to start visiting him every 6 months so he could start developing a history. When he said that, I was thinking what are you going to compare it against next time as you did not give any detailed notes, take pictures, etc. this time. 3. Dr. Chang appeared to be on auto-pilot. I am sure he has a lot going on and obviously did not see anything that stood out in my eyes, so he was ready to move on. I do understand that, but I had told him that I had been in an ER over the weekend with severe pain, worst photophobia that an MD had ever seen, and they had diagnosed me with iritis(anteror uveitus) of grade 2+ and given me steroids, and recommended that I go see an ophthalmologist. Dr. Chang said I really should stop taking steroids and continued to lecture me about not taking them even after I told him I had never taken them in my life until 36 hours prior when I left the ER, and I would stop immediately and not take anymore. I am sure he is correct on everything, but he should have understood and moved into different area of questions/conversation faster. He then lectured me about contact irritation(I have been on contacts for 35 years and probably had 8 different types of contacts in my life and know which ones work, and which do not) and was trying tp push me to disposable dailies. I am sure he is right about that as well, but my concern was the iritis and not the contact brand I have been on for the past 8 years with no issues, etc because I had not even changed contacts recently and hard to believe that that if I was no longer presenting with iritis, which he told me, that he could know that the contacts were the cause. I never had even told them what brand I was currently using and think he just has seen issues with extended contacts even for people who never sleep in them(I told him I never do). I find it hard to believe that he could know that was the cause of the problem and he was just guessing because the problem was no longer presenting
