Fantastic food and great owners. I love to support local places where you meet and interact with the owners. Minato Japanese restaurant in Smyrna Georgia. Family owned family run . This restaurant's been here for 30 years and is excellent. Only issues find me a place to park but trust me it's well worth it. Today I have the sauteed scallops and brown butter and also something not on the menu that you have to ask for is the Cowboy Hat appetizer. It's a rice cracker with crab salad, that they make in the house topped with a fried scallop . And a small salad ans miso soup, I was full !!!!! I also had another special appetizer seafood salad with shrimp topped with avocado this was my birthday special treat from the owners. Find this place it's out of the way under and behind the QT on Spring Street near the Battery and Truist Park. Well worth the trip.

I saw the reviews on this restaurant and still was hesitant not being from the area. Boy was I glad I still decided to try this place out! We had about a 20 minute wait after a Braves game but most of the people in there were locals. Many of the people knew the owners(waiters),I presume, which was wonderful. So we ordered soup, salad, sushi, ALOT of sushi. Every roll, slice of sushi was delicious. Favorite was the super crunchy. Next time I’m back for a game this is for sure a stop we are going to make! Thanks

Not sure why they have such good reviews. It took 40 mins for the food to come out. They did not apologize nor did they check on us once, even when the food came out. Food was also below average and bland. The fish was mushy. Would not recommend.
