Horrific - a human cannot even make an appointment online. They make you wait forever, then it either hungs up or it tells you that the volume is too high and to call at a later day. The IRS has locked mom's account because they claim that dad passed away a year earlier. There is no way to speak to a human being to tell them that such information is false. Even the SSA has confirmed with mom that the SSA has the right information and the IRS has made a terrible mistake. Problem is.. that mistake cannot be fixed because nobody is around to speak to.... EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Meanwhile, mom cannot file this year's taxes because her previous year's income tax records have been officially "locked" by this inadequate federal agency.... sad.

I have been trying to make an appointment for my grand daughter for 1 month. I can not get through on any line. She has also tried. At one point the phone rang and rang and then they hung up on her. We are going to travel to the Frederick office (35 miles) to see if we can make an appointment in person.

You have to keep calling until some one answers the phone then you can make an appointment to see them. They do help you, but I'm sure they can do more if they wanted.
Yes, last years they are trying to steal from seniors ,u know they are stealing from everywhere .it's the truth!!!!

I paid in person at this location last year.
There's a IRS building on the the corner of Heather ridge drive. Its across from Walgreens. Park in the back parking lot. That's the door to go in for irs office. Its best to get there I think between 9:30-4:30. Best before like 3:30 tho. If they are busy and have to wait till 4:30 they won't see you, even if waited all that time. They are very rude there. But if it's just a paper they have that without the wait. Just get it from the book shelf.
