As a Michelin star, the dishes can only be said to be quite satisfactory, and the price of omakase should be a premium under the blessing of Michelin

Outstanding, every single time!

Having been twice, this is arguably one of the best, if not the best, traditional sushi omakase offered in nyc. The decor of the restaurant is simple, but we’ll done. The sushi is next level in terms of quality of fish, rice, and taste. If available, the sake cooked sea bass is incredible - melts in your mouth and is perfectly prepared. Highly recommend visiting this staple if you are looking for a traditional Japanese omakase experience.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The food was mediocre considering the exorbitant prices. 9pm on a rainy Monday evening in New York, the restaurant was half full. After being told we had to be done in 45mins, which I totally understand. We then waited 15mins for anyone to even acknowledge we were there let alone bring menus or take a drink order. After ordering some simple dishes like edamame beans, miso soup and salmon belly nigiri, I asked the sever what else we should consider as it was our first time in the venue. She pointed at the menu and said "there's the menu" thinking she might not have understood what I was asking I asked again, "is there anything special that you guys do that we should consider?" Her response was exactly the same. Not a great start. After waiting another 10mins, we now only have 20mins before we have to leave, one beer arrived. We had ordered three other drinks. Another 10mins goes by and we get the edamame and miso. At this point I ask if our other drinks are coming and if the nigiri is far away as we were told we needed to be out in 45mins. From the look of apathy on the servers face was it was clear, those drinks were never coming. Another 10mins goes by and we are supposed to be out of there. By some miracle or divine intervention I manage to get the server's attention to ask if we still need to be out in 45mins as our food or drinks still haven't arrived. The answer was a simple "yes". A minute or two later the nigiri arrived, still no drinks and I asked for the check. Another 10mins goes by, no check or drinks. I get up and walk to the front counter to pay and the check arrives at the table. Still no drinks. We acknowledged the time limit originally given to us and did our best to order some simple dishes and be done in the requested time. We weren't impolite or intoxicated. However we were all shocked by the appalling service and average food. This is my first ever 1 star review. If I could give zero, I would.

Agree with above comment. It depends on appetite of the individuals, omakase is per piece. My last bill for 2 people was 500
My understanding is he sold the name rights but now works in Japan
