Ok Prescott folks here it is! I met up with some friends at Taj Mahal for some lunch to say goodbye to my good friend. I 1st came to eat here in the early 2000s back when they were at the frontier village. Now they are in beautiful down town Prescott. These guys are some of the sweetest and nicest people at a restaurant that I have encountered in a long time. And I visit allot of places often for a meal. The inside is spacious and beautiful. Outside seating is gorgeous too. All of their dishes and drinks were amazing! Youll see in the pictures our amazing food. We ordered the lunch special which I highly recommend you try it. You have the choice of 3 or 4 different meats one of the choices is vegetarian as well. It comes with 2 different entrees, and a few different sides. Also comes with their incredible Naan bread that will melt your heart. The flavor was great just the way it always is. We all thought the price was well deserved as well for the high quality and quantity. The drinks were the delicious Sangria and the iced Chai unsweetened. Indian food is wonderful anyways but enjoying it here is the bomb! You wont be disappointed. Its great for either a one person meal or a group of friends. They also have a cool bar there as well with many different options of drinks. Give them a try guys! And give them a review as well as spreading the word! Support local restraunts! They need it more than ever. We will continue to come here. See you guys soon!

The idea of “family style” servings is very misleading. Very overpriced for the amount you get, especially when you have to pay additional money for the rice to go under the topping. My husband and I both became very sick with food poisoning that evening following our meal there. A terrible experience! This is a response to the restaurant’s response. With all due respect, and just so this message is clear to the public, we had eaten all of our meals (3 full meals per day) at the same place along with 60 other individuals for 11 days. No one EVER became ill from the food. The ONLY meal out of over 30 meals eaten in that timeframe was eaten at the Taj Mahal. That obviously answers the question as to where the food poisoning came from. Our issue is not so much the monetary value lost, but to raise the awareness of the opportunities to assure proper food handling and health department safety requirements, AND to give the public the opportunity to make their own decision after reading this. This is the purpose of a review. To share one’s experience. This was our experience at the Taj Mahal. We were a large group of professionals with multiple physicians and nurses who realize that the only way to get through food poisoning is to rid the body of the toxins. That is what we spent well over 24 hours doing. It is unfortunate that the restaurant’s response comes across so very defensively and openly chooses to make fun of the customer’s experience.

This place came highly recommended! I had butter chicken! It was very good. Expensive but good. What I didn't like is you have to order the rice and naan separately. The naan was not as good as I have had in other restaurants. It was very dry and lacked flavor. Main course was good for all of us. Party of 4 was over$100.

I now understand the bad reviews. I wanted to like this place. Everyone loves a good Indian restaurant but this place was not it. We used grub hub. Ordered our meal, butter garlic chicken, chicken tiki masala and a few appetizers. Let me start off by saying it was not cheap! That small plastic container $19.99! But we thought it’ll be good it’s fine. Our first issue was the food was delivered with no rice, we paid $19.99 for a small container of chicken? No rice for the entree? Second issue the “garlic butter chicken” and the “chicken tiki masala” were the absolute same, no difference in taste, we just assumed they sent us a duplicate of one appetizer. Husband calls restaurant to explain they forgot the rice and maybe we were sent the same entree twice. The girl on the phone was extremely rude, told us “that’s Grubhubs problem you didn’t get your rice” and she straight up told us “the butter garlic chicken and the chicken tiki masala are the exact same” like what??? Your advertising two different entrees that are the exact same? By her rude tone and not bothered attitude we had accepted this place just deserved the bad reviews, hung up and went on with our night. The food that we did get was not bad Indian food so that’s something but the outrageous price ($100 for two entrees, tiny ones at that and 3 appetizers) and the awful customer service was a good reason to never go back.

Used to be until 2 or 3 but I don't know anymore. Try calling them, they will know.
On our menus, we put df or gf next to the item. We have vegetarian dishes, along with many others that are dairy free and gluten free! Enjoy!
