We came into town from Texas and when we tried to come on a Saturday they were fully booked! Got a reservation on a Sunday for kayaks and paddle boards, and the prices are unbeatable for the area. The girls that helped were super nice and helped us load the stuff on our car. They provide everything to load it on your vehicle, we returned it a little late and we felt really bad about it but they assured us it was okay. Thank you so much, the customer service was exceptional!!!

They were great, very helpful. Answered all of our questions and helped us load the 2 kayaks on the car. We went to check in and the new girl had a hard time checking us in, but it was her first day. Would go back

Very nice employees but definitely look for any damage on your gear before you go because they won't hesitate to charge you for it if they find any when you come back. SUPs looked like fiberglass, not sure about that but they did charge $15 per centimeter for damage. I recommend taking a picture of the bottom of your gear before you go.

UPDATE: I have updated my review from 2 to 4 stars after the company reached out to me on their Facebook page and addressed my problem, refunded the $20 as well as mentioned they would consider changing their damage procedures. I was impressed with their customer service as a result and felt better about my business with them. They have better prices than some other SUP rental places, which includes a life jacket, and their staff is friendly if not disorganized and chaotic, but I will attribute that to the rush of the 4th of July holiday. However, I ended my business with them feeling like I had been scammed. When I returned my board the clerk inspected it for damage, which is understandable. But I knew when I checked out my paddle board that morning that there were multiple dings and dents on the bottom. The clerk insisted that I had damaged my board and charged me an additional $20. When I mentioned that there had already been damage to the board when I checked it out, I got a haughty "I personally inspect these boards and that was not there before". Mind you, this was not the same employee who had helped me check the board out that morning and there had been no inspection of the board before I took it out. I understand they need to check and be compensated for damage, but the way they handled it, I felt I had been scammed and taken advantage of; there is no transparency. They should go over all rental equipment with customers before they are checked out so that all parties can assess prior damage, just like when you rent a car. I had been very gentle with my board and I know I had not put that damage on there, but because I had not taken inventory of my rental equipment before hand and failed to document it with my phone or with the employees, I had no choice but to pay the additional $20. INSIST ON GOING OVER RENTAL EQUIPMENT CONDITION BEFORE YOU RENT THE EQUIPMENT!!

Questions & Answers

Are you on the water or do you have transportation to the water?

Detours is a few blocks away from cemetery point, you have to have a way to drive them to the water. Parking at cemetery point is $18. If you have a car or SUV with a roof rack or cross bars, then you're set. They may offer delivery to the water, but I'm not sure.
