Such an amazing experience! Dining here for lunch was a highlight of our visit to New York. The views are spectacular and the location within the United Nations is very, very cool.

Classy lunch service with world class buffet (or order from a menu) in White table cloth space overlooking panoramic view of the East River. There is a dress code. Superb, attentive yet unobtrusive, service. Must make advance registration and go through security check. Allow additional time. The dining room may get closed to visitors during special UN events or emergencies. Additional space around the dining room may be reserved for large groups or events for lunch or other gatherings. During General Assembly, many special events are held here which close it to visitors. Extra effort to make it here at least once is worth it.

You need to get to the visitors lobby and reception. They will then make arrangements for you to get to the dining room
It's on the very top (5th floor) if I remember correctly. (At this coordinates: 40.7495295, -73.9671503). The dining room features a nice view over the East River. Cheers!
Usually yes. But can close due to special meetings or emergencies.
