The place is infested with mice. We left after the second night when a mouse ran over my foot while on the toilet. All the owner said was “they’re just field mice” He either needs to get a litter of cats or an exterminator. Just plain nasty. Well John, I am glad to hear that you have taken steps to keep the mice out of the cabins. However, in attacking me personally, you have shown what type of host and person you are. Good luck in all your future endeavors.

Overpriced and underwhelming. I recommend looking to stay anywhere else if possible. The docking setup horrendous. You have to climb down a sketchy ladder or walk through the lake just to get to your boat. The 4 very old and antiquated cabins are adequate for two individuals or two couples only, and are decently maintained. This place is definitely just a cash grab, and the owner acts like there is a stick shoved up somewhere it shouldn't be. Great sunsets.

i found everything to be just like it states in their ads. will be going back in a few days. had a grate time last year and if the weather is good it will be grate again. I highly consider this to be the best fishing trip of all that I have taken and that`s saying a lot. I have fished all over this state and Hubbard is the best when it comes to the small mouth bass. The cottage was well equipped and clean. The grounds were well kept and there was a good view of the lake. Unfortunately the negatives out-weighed the good for me. My issue is with the lack of parking. I was told that there were no lifts available for my boat and that they did not allow their guests to tie up to the dock. I knew this before I arrived. What they failed to tell me is that there is very limited parking and there is no parking anywhere near the cottage and there is no place to charge the batteries on my boat. If I had known this in advance I would have found another place to stay. If you are bringing a boat to Hubbard Lake and there is no lift available for rent, I suggest you try another rental.

Do you rent boats?

The boats that are included with the cabins are 10ft and 12ft aluminum row boats. The wood motor mounts are starting to rot and some have slow leakage but are not too bad. We used them with 5hp outboards but did not enjoy the experience. I cannot safely recommend them for fishing, but are likely alright to paddle around for a few minutes of fun with small children. The owner will let you rent his pontoon which could hold a lot of people and be fun.
