Called this office and they told me they did provide a specific service. Got there and was turned away because they only took care of retirement and benefits.

No, but you have to take your social security card, birth certificate, passport, and State ID or driver's license to the Department Of Vital Records in downtown Manhattan in the city hall section

Winthrop street. The SSA office is 1 block south of that. 2 and 5 trains are there in the Winthrop street station.

I'm not sure about getting temporary ones there but I know for sure you can't permanent ones from the downtown Brooklyn office that you need to go to. Ask them and see what they say about a temporary

No, you have to go to 154 Pierrpont Street 6th Floor Brooklyn, NY 11201 or you can do it online on SSA.GOV
No, you have to go downtown to 195 Montague Street 6th Floor in the Borough Hall section or you can go to 154 Pierrepont Street 6th Floor but the 1 on Montague is easier to find
You can but you will lose all healthcare. Some states like mine pay the premium and they still give you Medicaid. You need to find out from your state of they can cover the premium charge. Ask your Medicaid or Welfare office or any of your local elected officials or any non-profit organizations if they can help you to get the information to your question and you should be fine from there
