I applied for HO insurance online, answered many questions, and was asked for credit card information. Thought all was taken care of, until I received an email requesting a roof inspection report by a licensed inspector. I declined to accept the expense and delay of hiring an inspector, so sent them a copy of the receipt showing a recent new roof. They then requested photos of the roof, which I sent. These included the large trees on the property, and Lemonade replied that they refuse to cover properties with large trees. So, a very poor customer experience: - Asking for payment before deciding to write coverage - Asking the customer to pay for an unnecessary roof inspection - Denying coverage for a reason they could easily have asked about during the application, but didn't.

I had damage to almost everything I owned when Apts I lived in failed to take care of plumbing problem. Then, while we were in hotel because everything was such a mess, transients moved in to apartment and moved out everything move able. I was approved by lemonade, but they never paid the claim. I First was told that no adjust e would be coming. Then, because another policy holder has claim, they wanted adjuster to come verify nmi waited 2 1/2 hours after taking bus in 110 degree weather to meet her. She never came. No call, no text, no message. Then after saying I was approved, I was denied. I was denied because I got evicted..I got evicted because I refused to pay rent because management refused to fix ANY problem we brought to their attention. I wrote and wrote and explained circumstances and lemonade kept telling me further investigation was needed but that I HAD been approved. I provided puctures, letters, videos. They kept having a different claims person "taking over and getting to the bottom of this". Then, I'd never hear from the person again. So I'd write another letter and have to go through the whole explanation again again. That person would th r n ask the same questions and for the next person who was going to get to the bottom of it It's been over a year now. All my furniture and belongings were destroyed or stolen abd I had insurance coverage. But they did nothing to replace anything. But lemonade just ran me around in circles and did nothing. They were horrid. I fortunately didn't have them in my new home. Good luck!

I switched from my long-term renters insurance to give Lemonade a try and save some money. I have had my policy for almost a year. I recently had two mountain bike stolen on my property, Thief kicked in a fence and cut my lock. I immediately filed a police report and a claim with Lemonade. I received an email a couple hours later that they denied my claim, because the value was under my deductible amount. They wouldn’t help me. What’s the point in having renters insurance when valuables are damaged or stolen, if the renters policy doesn’t cover them. Bikes cost me about $400, I was only asking for $200. I don’t recommend the renters insurance, even though it’s cheap, you get what you pay for.

Yes

Has anyone had a good experience when filling a claim with Lemonade? I'm getting skeptical after reading their reviews. Their answers to complaints make me even more skeptical. They pretty much blow off everyone with a complaint.

They blocked me on Twitter and then got my account suspended. I've reported them to the insurance commissioner. Litigation is probable. Over a year on a total fire loss. Just run from this company.

How do I file a claim
