I visited this church when we first moved to Virginia. I found this area very different from our last duty station and was desperate for some connection and kind words. So coming here was a HUGE mistake. I attended the women's Bible study. I entered the have nave, and, not knowing what else to do, sat down, by myself, trying not to cry. It had to have been at least 15 minutes before the study started, and NOT ONE PERSON spoke to me. I've been to churches where you can't make it to your seat without three or four people greeting you. Ha ha, not here! In retrospect, it was probably because I didn't look like a colonel's trophy wife. I strongly suggest you don't bother coming here if you're not a blonde WASP with a Louis Vuitton handbag and Jimmy Choo stilettos. Other reviewers who said the women are cliquey and rude are correct. Edited to add: These are precisely the people who sneered at Jesus for eating with sinners and tax collectors.

We recently began attending BCC and we have found our church home while stationed here with the Army. The church offers solid biblical teaching for adults and children! Our kids always come out of their classes excited about what they learned and the friends they made! In the 5 weeks we have attended, Pastor Marty has challenged us to dig deeper into God's Word. We appreciate that his teaching makes us think critically. Thank you for being a place where the love of Jesus is abundant! We are thrilled to become BCC family while we live here.

Burke Community Church has been my home now for four years. Everyone there is most welcoming and genuinely care about you. And they provide so many opportunities to dig deeper into the Bible additionally not only serve the Burke community, but also extend help and services is the surrounding area. Pastor Marty is such a joy to listen to, a great sense of humor and very knowledgeable in the things of Christ.

Excellent youth ministry program at BCC. Middle schoolers meet weekly on Thursday nights and high schoolers Wednesday nights at the church in a large group (approx. 150 last week on Wednesday night) from 7-8 pm and then break into a small group with the same kids and leader every week from 8 to 8:45 pm for discussion and sharing. Kids are made to feel welcome and cared for, and have fun! Summer camp, work projects and a fall retreat round out the year. Come check it out!
