I just wanted to tell you how thoroughly we all enjoyed the Train-the-Trainer workshop. Michelle was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Most of us have been training for years and have attended TTT trainings but none nearly as engaging and productive. I have no doubt we will be able to bring our training program to another level with the tools and techniques we learned in just three short days. Thank you so much. It was well worth the wait!

I felt that the training should have been more specific to what Jefferson County School expects from employees as far as good customer service. The differences between schools and departments is sometimes confusing. I feel there should be a standards maintained and expected across our organization and that was not addressed during the training.

This training workshop has generated a high level of excitement and engagement from the Ascend Performance Materials unit trainer group. We had a lot of energy going into the training workshop and that made the learnings more interesting. The instructor was able to connect with all the participants and engage them in relevant material. We are in a critical stage in our organization with Sr. employees nearing retirement and much younger workers with less years of experience. Knowledge transfer is our #1 priority. The following topics were of high focus areas: • Adult Learning Styles • Developmental Stages of Learning • Knowledge Transfer within a Multi-Generational Workforce • Design & Delivery Methods • Facilitation in a Virtual Environment I would like to thank you for such an impactful training workshop and the instructor, Elana Centor, was very engaging and connected well with our group. She was able to pull things out of the most introverted individuals. The DiSC profiles were very insightful and revealed a lot about our group dynamics and how we can leverage our strengths to support our workforce.

Yes. There are several consulting companies(food service, retail, marketing, entertainment, hospitality, pharmaceutical, textiles) where we provided a training strategy to assist both customer service and sales to improve their skills to the goal to increase confidence, sales, and retention of customers. Delivery methods varied based on client request and end-user audience requirements. Instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, interactive job aids, apps and more.

How do you measure the effectiveness of your learning design? What tools do you use? Please give examples of your work.

It depends on the client requirements. TrainSmart always implements a Level 1 Evaluation. If the client required Level 2, we develop pre- and post-measurement tool to determine the delta from learning. If a Level 3 is required, TrainSmart works with the client to design and execute a 60/90 days strategy to ensure that learning is transferred onto the job; this design has many mitigating factors related to management and leadership that client’s seldom execute it. A Level 4, while available, is seldom if ever undertaken due to expense.

Do you design workshops? What is your process for designing workshops?

Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019

Yes. Complete the analysis, define the learning objectives, identify the content that supports what the audience needs to know or do, build the workshop based on defined budgets and other business restrictions like access to learners, geographic distribution, language, culture, etc..

Do you develop learning materials (eLearning, face-to-face, mobile, etc.)? What types of learning materials do you create? Describe your content development process.

Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019

We develop SGs, FGs, PPT Decks, Job Aids, self-study guides, tests/practices, scripts, storyboards, GUI templates, SCORM m/eLearning (adaptive or nonadaptive) using all common development tools, standards. From a process perspective, complete the objectives find the content that supports what the audience needs to know or do, build the deliverable.

Describe your approach to blended learning program design and development. What are the key steps in the process?

Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019
Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019

Blended solutions result from calculated decisions based on the analysis of the audience and the client technologies that can be leveraged. Most times, prerequisite knowledge can be learned in advance of application.

What is your process for training needs analysis? How do you work on this with your client?

Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019
Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019

Since Analysis sets the basis for any effort to improve performance and every client’s need is different, TrainSmart executes the strategies that maximize client engagement while providing the data critical to the execution of design, development, implementation, and evaluation both formative and summative.

In your company’s view, what makes a person a great trainer?

Leslie Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019
Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019

A great trainer is one that listens to the need, provides feedback for the expected outcomes, along with activities that align with the client, engages the audience, while attending to each participant’s concerns, goals and experience and all the while makes the learning fun by the design of several interactions and check-ins with the participant.  The trainer uses the Tell3 method: Tell them what you are going to (teach) tell them, Tell/teach them, Tell them what you told. Taught them.  Review. The trainer is nurturing and provides the tools, best practices, and recommendations for being a successful trainer.

What differentiates your Train-the-Trainer program from other Train-the-Trainer companies and programs?

Leslie Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019
Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019

TrainSmart’s Internationally Certified Train-the-Trainer workshop is certified by The International Board of Certified Trainers and is not Self-Certified.  You will find that most of the TTT programs are certified by the company that designed and developed the workshops which do not give it creditability or hold it to a particular standard, like TrainSmart’s TTT.  Further, TrainSmart tailors/customizes all of its programs to meet the needs/goals/objectives of the audience, as we know that this will provide the greatest value and knowledge transfer for the participants.

What is the main focus of the content of your Train-the-Trainer workshop?

Leslie Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019
Scott Ciborowski | Oct 13, 2019

The focus of the Train-the-Trainer program is to prepare the participant to understand how adults learn best, understand how to assess the learning need, how to write solid objectives that ties to the program design and development.  There is a large part of the workshop that focuses on the delivering and evaluating of the training.  Topics include communications skills, presentation skills, various best practices training techniques, preparing for the delivery of training, listening, questioning, handling difficult situations, virtual training, one-on-one, classroom management and finally evaluation.  We would suggest using your content for the various practices throughout the three-day workshop.  The amount of emphasis to a given topic and if there are a particular policy and practice at your organization, we will infuse it into our training.
