My stylist Crystal knocked it out the park. Comfortable atmosphere great attention to detail. Experience felt personal. Best of all quick service for the very best service. Hands down 10 out of 10. Very pleased with my return to this amazing salon. 🤩

I recently had to switch hair and nail salons because of my work schedule. I dreaded going back and forth searching again. I am so pleased with More ( a recommendation from an acquaintance) and my stylist, Jessica. She listens to all concerns. At one point my hair didn’t turn out the way we wanted (through no fault of hers but just learning my hair texture) and she worked to fix it with no issues at all. I appreciate her efforts and her work. Beautiful salon and my experience has been wonderful. Thank you More and Jessica😍

Transfered to this salon to get my sisterlocks retightened; was very patient I went from my hair being done previously only taking 1hr 30 mins to 2 hrs max to it taking 4-5 hrs at this salon. I went from feeling like a priority client to the stylist overlapping appointments , pushing back my appointment times to waiting for over 1 hr 45 mins in the waiting area at times to even get started with my service. From the beginning my retightenings always look rushed and not really manicured the way I have experienced at another salon. I was a natural hair stylist for over 10 yrs so I know how my hair should look. The icing on the cake for me was when I asked for my hair to be colored. I initially wanted a light brown with multiple shades of blonde highlights. The stylist starting out with my base color which was a mahogany brown. I was told that at my next appointment the highlights would be applied but instead my base color got touched up and came out looking darker than the initial application. I showed the stylists several different looks I was looking for all in the same hue range from highlights, lowlights, balage, ombre. The stylist went with the ombre and was very distracted while doing my color and had another client come in 30 mins after me and was bouncing back and forth between our heads. My color was left on entirely too long leaving my hair dull, dry, brassy, with a orange yellow tone, even changing the texture, structure and shaft of my locks. I had chemical burns on my forehead and in my scalp.. I made the stylist aware to receive a text message back asking me to apply aloe and vitamin e oil. And instructioned me to mix together Purple shimmer shampoo and Olaplex #4 to tone down the hue. I was so over it at this moment and began to start unraveling my locks. A good friend of mine that works at the salon I made her aware of what was going on and she suggested I tell the owner. I didn't want to go that route and get the stylist in trouble. My friend decided to let the owner know herself. The owner told her to tell me to call her I called the owner and she apologized reassuring me that my hair would be treated, color repaired and locks I took out put back in and my hair retightened. I came in to have a wonderful professional knowledgeable stylist Crystal to treat my hair that experience was good. I met the owner personally she seemed very condescending the entire time we spoke she was preoccupied by her cellphone , I let it slide. I made an appointment with Crystal for the following weekend to have my color repaired the owner said it would be best for her to retighten my locks and put the locks I took out back in that day and asked me to send her a reminder text message. A few days later I sent the reminder text and also asked for clarity regarding my color making sure I would not have to pay for it because of my horrible experience. The owner responded,"Good Afternoon, we will honor that". When I came in to get my color Crystal did an amazing job again I asked if the owner was there because I didn't see her and I was told she was there earlier that morning, I found it strange because she was to retighten my hair and replace the locks I combed out. By the time my color was done still no sign of the owner. The owner called me 2 hours later left me a lengthy voice-mail talking about let me be clear I never said I was doing your hair today and so forth and so on and also said she asked me when I was available. ALL LIES!! I called her the following day to really clear things up and also told her my friend told me I was on her calendar for that day and I do have the receipts for that. The owner never wanted to fix or repair anything she was only covering her behind for her salon. We scheduled yet another appointment. I thought long and hard about it this salon will never ever get another coin from me. I'd love to be a client of Crystal's but not at that salon. It's very unprofessional, unorganized, mismanaged and a poor representation of a black owned business. I pray no one else has this experience.

This place is not worth it. I have Sisterlocks and I have been client for year and tolerated a lot at More Hair Salon. I have had to wait over an hour and half for multiple appointments and I was willing to do it because of the cost and I liked my Sisterlocks Consultant. What tipped me over was that the salon encouraged its clients to book out my retightenings for the full year and then we received an email mid-year increasing the rates from $150 with a shampooing to $205. Even if your hair only takes 2 hours to complete, you still have to pay $205 for 4 hours. The price clearly increased because the salon doesn't have enough stylists or clients. The cost for every single service is now higher than pretty much every other place in the DMV. Plus, the last time I visited was the last straw, I booked for a 7AM appointment and had to wait until about 9 for someone to come and open the salon. On top of that, when the owner arrived to open, I asked the owner about the price increase and if it impacted those of us who booked out the full year. I asked respectfully and she was rude to me! She gave me a tone and told me that she "thought it was pretty clear." She didn't even apologize for the fact that I wait 2 hours outside of her salon! She told me that I was booking in advance for the privilege of reserving time to get my locs retightened. Later, she started reprimanding my stylist in front of me which I found very unprofessional. But it gets worse, the owner started to take photos of me and my hair without my consent. I specifically told her that I didn't want my photo taken and I didn't want a video taken of me. And she told me, it didn't matter and proceeded to do it anyway. I didn't start my Sisterlocks here and I didn't want to be on their marketing. TL;DR They lure you in but the atmosphere doesn't make up for the headache. The cost is too high for the service and the experience. The wait time is awful. The management is rude, it's not professional, and there is always trouble with booking. Plus, the management will take photos and videos of you without your consent.
