Great team of doctors and assistants. Knowledgeable, professional and human. I feel very fortunate to have been given their information for PT. Hours are good, can take my lunch break and do the necessary PT.

Physical therapy is not meant to hurt, but to relieve pain. However, as you restore your mobility, pain levels, at times can fluctuate. You might experience some temporary soreness from using muscles that are weakened or recovering. This is a normal response to therapy treatment. Good communication with your therapist will help minimize any discomfort. We want you on your way to quick pain relief and back to normal activities.
Our scheduling is easy and we offer a convenient location and appointment times for you. We have morning and evening appointments available to meet the demands of your busy schedule. Call us today or visit us online @ www.iwantpt.com
Sorry for taking so long to reply. Yes we do see stroke patients. Our team is able to spend more time with stroke patients because we offer one on one sessions that last for an hour.
Movement is a normal and necessary part of growing and healing. Inactivity, even for a short time, results in muscle weakness and soft tissue stiffness. Physical therapy is aimed at restoring healthy movement. After your evaluation, I will work with you to establish the right amount of exercise to decrease stiffness, increase strength and improve endurance. Movement will also increase healthy circulation to the injured area which promotes healing and decreases pain.
As a physical therapist I will listen to the history of your problem, perform some evaluative techniques, and then share my findings with you. After the evaluation you and I will work as a team and set up a plan of care which will address anything that is restricting your function, to help get you back to problem-free activity. The program will include movement, stretching and exercises, along with some education and homework for you to do at home. The home program will give you the chance to practice the movements we work on during therapy, and will help you identify areas that are still problematic. We will also work on how you can manage flare-ups at home. After you have reached your goals, I will be here for you to check-in with questions or concerns. In short, we will work together to fix your problem!
This depends on what’s comfortable for you! I typically recommend lying on either side with a pillow between your legs and a pillow to support your top arm. However, if this isn’t comfortable for you, you could try lying on your back with a pillow under your knees to create a slight bend and take pressure off your lower back. I do not recommend lying in your stomach as this is not a great position for your shoulders or neck to be in for a prolonged time.
It depends! Whatever pillow allows you to have the most relaxed neck posture in neutral neck alignment is the one that’s best for you. When you’re on your back, your chin should not be tilted upwards or downwards. If your pillow does not fully support the curve in your neck, you could try a rolled up towel or airplane pillow in addition to or instead of a flat pillow. For many people, a roll or towel that is about the same size as their forearm gives good neutral alignment on your back or your side. When lying on your side, most people need a slightly thicker pillow to keep them in a neutral position. If you’d like a professional opinion, bring your pillow into a PT visit and we will take a look!
A physical therapist is an expert in healthy movement who can help you reduce structural restrictions, restore mobility, and teach you good movement patterns to help you achieve defined goals, in order to resume an optimal level of physical function. Your therapist will provide you with knowledge of how to manage small fluctuations, and periodically help you through flares as they arise over the course of daily life.
Calf cramps can be caused by a number of factors including dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, overuse, medications or lower back structural abnormalities. If you are trying to troubleshoot your cramps, first ensure that you are adequately hydrated by drinking more caffeine-free liquids, preferably water. Make sure you replenish lost electrolytes from exercise. Low sugar sports drinks or coconut water can help replace electrolytes but it is best to avoid the ones with a lot of sugar. Tonic water has quinine which has anecdotal evidence for helping relieve cramps. Other things you can try are calf and foot stretches and massage to help relax the muscles before bed. If you are still not finding relief, contact your doctor or physical therapist.
There are many postural devices on the market these days including devices that buzz when you’re slouching at the computer and clothing with built-in support or external back braces to keep you upright. While these devices can be helpful in the short-term for helping you to break a bad habit of slouching, we don’t recommend them for long-term use. To truly improve your posture, your brain needs to be challenged to self-correct. A Physical Therapist can help you learn what proper postural alignment feels like and design a program to work on any muscle weaknesses that may be affecting your ability to maintain a good posture throughout the day. A PT can also help you assess your workstation ergonomics so that you optimize your position and can correct your posture during daily routines. We recommend setting a timer at 20-30 min intervals when you are at the computer to cue you to get up and take an active stretch break.
This depends on what you have going on. Ice can help with inflammation, so if you have a lot of swelling ice is a great tool. On the other hand, heat is great for tight muscles or muscle cramps to help them feel more relaxed and loose.
The popping, cracking, creaking, crunching, or grinding you may feel in your joint is called crepitus. People of all ages can experience crepitus, but it does become more common as you get older. Crepitus is common in arthritis, but it can also be due to air bubbles popping inside the joint and tendons or ligaments snapping over the joint’s bony structures. If the crepitus is not accompanied by pain, it is not a cause of concern! Crepitus can be normal with joint movement. However, if you are having pain with crepitus, a physical therapist can help identify any problems to help your joints move smoother.
You do not need an x-ray or MRI in order to see a physical therapist. We will evaluate you and can then determine from our evaluation if any imaging is necessary. However, we can treat a lot of conditions without any imaging just by seeing the way you move!

Each patient’s diagnosis is different, so together with your referring physician, your therapist will develop a plan of care that is right for you. Your plan of care and number of visits will be determined during your first visit and explained to you by your physical therapist.
Typically, the first session lasts for 1 hour 15 minutes. Each session after that may be 45-60 minutes. The amount of time will be based on your specific needs, and your therapist will discuss this with you.
Dress comfortably with clothes that allow easy access for the therapist to examine your problem areas. For treatments, loose fitting clothes that are comfortable for gentle exercises and supportive sneakers are often good choices to wear.
We accept cash, check, debit card, and credit card. We are happy to discuss payment plan options as well. It is our policy that payment is made at the time of service. Your insurance benefits will be determined before your second visit, and you will be informed of what, if any, payment is necessary on that date.
To bring on your first visit: - A prescription (if needed) for physical therapy from your referring physician, ARNP, or PA. - Insurance information (we will make a copy of your card). - Print out the patient forms, fill them out, and bring them with you, if you didn't fill them out online. - In case of an automobile accident or worker’s compensation claim, also bring any case manager or insurance adjuster contact names, phone numbers, and claim number. - Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork, so you can maximize your time in your evaluation. - Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your problem areas.

Physical therapy is a medical, hands-on approach to relieving pain and restoring function. Physical therapists are medical experts in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and work closely with physicians. Our physical therapists evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your pain, and work to eliminate it. While every patient’s condition and pain is unique, your physical therapist will use a variety of gentle hands-on techniques, exercises, and equipment to relieve pain quickly and restore your function to optimum levels. The overall goal is to restore pain-free mobility and function and to prevent the injury or pain from recurring.
