Beautiful library and great kids floor! They have a koi pond in the kids library and a whole room for them to do art.

The beautiful renovation job highlights this historic structure! And the lighting is abundant! Update: The library is also rebounding nicely from the pandemic! Great place to visit.

A wonderful library with an important history. The main branch was the first non-Carnegie physically accessible public library, the system itself was the first public library system to be available to everyone without a subscription - hence the name Enoch Pratt FREE Library. Photos are from the beautiful basement children’s library.

Also you may make an appointment to use the library computers.
Certain branches are open for sidewalk pickup and books by mail! It'll be best to contact the library itself if theres something specific you need.
It is much better (and safer) to use the light rail system. Park at one of the outlying stations for free and take the light rail to Center Street Station. The library is a short walk and you will not have to worry about the light rail ceasing service before the library closes. In fact, the Enoch Pratt Library is open after 5 on Monday through Thursday (except for special events). December 3, 2019 is one such day. The branch closes at 4PM.

"The Library receives many gifts of books, magazines, audio-books, videos, DVD’s, and compact discs. These gifts substantially enrich the library’s collections. However, gifts must meet the same criteria for selection that new, reviewed materials must meet in order to be added to the Library’s collections." http://www.prattlibrary.org/about/index.aspx?id=641 #howdidyoureact
