I had a Gold Gym membership at Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie, MD in 2014. That time, there was a big promotion with no membership fee, no string for cancellation. However, they changed their word and said no cancellation is allowed unless I pay full payment of the year. When I had to cancel the membership because I had assignment for several month-long business trip. I was calling the company during my busy business trip out of state trying to cancel. They lure people through their promotion advertisement and then they changed their word. They put me in collection company, they harassed me. I didn't know what to do. After I came back I went to a lawyer who read the contract, wrote a letter to the company. Also, he recommended to me to file a complaint to the office of Attorney General. The lawyer didn't get any response from the Gold Gym Head office but a while later, the Gold Gym Head office sent a letter to the attorney general's office saying 'There were misunderstanding between customer and the gym, they allowed the customer to cancel the membership contract any time with given notice'. I couldn't believe that what they were saying in their letter. I realized that Attorney General Office has power to protect customer. I felt like make a lawsuit against the Gold Gym at Marley station for my frustration with the issue, I still feel like to do. I could easily wrote one letter to the office and their response was quick. Thank you! Attorney General's Office.

The Attorney General is now teaming up with the disastrous Baltimore City Government to put small businesses out of business. He recently took taxpayers money and time to right a 22 page opinion about towing fees that goes against every Baltimore legislature in Baltimore history. Adding to his legacy putting many minorities out of work.

I read the reviews. Seems like nothing has changed no matter who is in office. I filed a complaint about a company approximately 10 yrs ago thru the MD AG. I was told they couldn't find enough information about the company to continue a case. I called the AG in NY and within 3 weeks the case was resolved and I had a refund in the mail. Received the refund within a week after the case was solved. I agree with one prior review....the MD AG office is a waste of taxpayers money. Wish I could give ZEROs or NEGATIVE 10.
