I noticed this diner had a help wanted sign on the front window while I was out job hunting for bussing position. So I went in and filled out an application because I need a job urgently. It was a full diner so I was feeling the potential. I talked to the owner and he said they might have a dish position open. I turned around and inquired about the sign on window and he turned a little sheepish...saying that's because of current busser and it was mostly put up to drive him to work better. Like I said before, the place was FULL. Instead of exploiting the guy....maybe hire a second busser to help him. He ended up rushing me through conversation and I felt he was shutting the interaction down. I left and came back the next day to check back in and show I'm interested....because I have to make money to survive obviously. The dude straight up asks me what I wanted in a dumbfounded way. I told him I'm checking back on and he asks if he called me in a pleasant but rude way. Like no, you didn't but I'm job hunting....you have to stay on top of looking for jobs. He told me he would call me if he had anything to report to me. Report to me??? You have a help wanted sign on the window....do you not need help??? Isn't that the "report" itself? Take it down, don't toy with people. He seemed like a douchebag that just knows how to act pleasant to the public. So I started losing interest after this because I started imagining working for this guy and how I would quickly dislike it
