They are contracted with the MVA and there is a $20 service fee.
I'm not sure, I think an actual MVA office can only do that.

MVA does not allow extensions to temporary tags. If you have temporary tags and they have expired your only options would be to park the car until you can tow it to an inspection station and then renew your registration or to title the vehicle in someone else's name.
If not inspected, 190 plus 6% of what you paid for it.
