Best gumbo I've ever had, even in New Orleans. Chicken & andouille sausage was out of this world, the duck & sausage was even better... It is well worth the stop.

I love to post great reviews, and I almost did not post a review because this one is not great. The restaurant is beautiful, but that was all it had going for it on this day. I will start with my bloody Mary, maybe it was just not to my taste but it was sweet and I could not drink it, no problem they took it off my bill. Then we had to try the gumbo, it was not very hot and seemed to be from the bottom of yesterday's pot. We did not complain but did not eat it. We both ordered the breakfast with eggs scrambled add cheese. When it arrived after watching tables that were sat after us getting their meals, the cheese was not melted and the eggs were cold so was the French toast. The waitress said she would get me more eggs and the manager would come talk to us. Neither ever happened. We finally got our bill and left. No one ever said sorry or anything not even our waitress. Sadly we will not ever go back. Side note: The grit and bacon were good.

Yes it's great fresh seafood at a fair price. One of the best kept secret by locals. Only go to AJs if you feel the need to eat crappy tourist food at tourist prices
