This place is incompetent. Explained clearly what happened and what needed to be fixed and apparently have to come back for a 3rd visit to finish the job because they didn't complete it the first 2 visits. Also still waiting for that call from the service advisor to schedule that 3rd visit because apparently they are understaffed during evening hours and the operator said she would "hand deliver" my message to the advisor on duty but never heard back.

Yes, it is about $170. As is pretty typical for most shops, they will charge you a diagnostic fee for their time to figure out the problem. They will contact you after they figure out what's wrong and give you an estimate of how much the total repair cost will be. If you decide to have the repair done with them, that $170 will be applied towards the total repair. If you don't want to do the repair with them, or want to take it elsewhere for a second opinion, then all you owe is the $170 diagnostic fee, and their repair estimate is good for about a month.
