Amazing stop with lots of cool train artifacts! Jare is a very knowledgeable lady with a deep love for history and archives. She makes this museum! If you stop plan on talking to her to learn more about the railroad and local history!

A beautifully restored passenger depot is the highlight. Talking to Jaré Cardinal, director of the Salamanca Rail Museum, was a close second. The pictures and artifacts were very nice as well. The stories and information she told us was very interesting. She told us of some grand plans they have in the works and we certainly hope they come true. Other than a donation, the museum is free. Definitely worth a stop.

Great piece of history

Quality time with Jare looking at new document accessions. Several CSX manuals and rule books, as well as several employee time tables. Also, some discussion of STEM, enrichment projects, and making interactive displays using items in the collection.

That's a good idea I'll look into it. If there is one already, I'll make corrections
The train cars displayed on site are completely open to the public and there should be no problem with bringing a small dog inside. There are two cabooses and an old crew car, which are all in various conditions.
Tuesday,thrusday,and Saturday from 10 am to 4pm
