If you haven’t bought a car in the post-COVID world, it’s a whole new ballgame thanks to disrupted supply chains, etc. Depending on the make and model you’re looking for, you’ll likely have to order a vehicle that’s still in production and wait for it to come in. Fortunately, when the time came to buy a new Civic, we went back to the team at Ourisman Honda in Tyson’s Corner where we bought our last four Hondas over the past 20 years. Ozcan Tayanc was patient and professional as he guided us through the “new normal” car ordering/buying landscape, helping us locate a sleek new ‘22 Civic that was just beginning the production process. He told us the timeline to expect and explained the process for putting a FULLY REFUNDABLE deposit down on the vehicle. With supplies low and demand high, markups are the rule of the day, but Ozcan and the sales team worked with us to negotiate a reasonable price, which we accepted, then stayed in contact with us while we waited for the car to come in, giving us regular updates on its progress. Luckily, the car was completed and delivered even sooner than expected, so today we came to the dealer to check out our Civic fresh off the assembly line (3 miles on the odometer when we arrived this morning). After a test drive to confirm that we love the car, Ozcan and his manager gave us exactly what we wanted for our trade-in (an ‘06 Civic purchased there 16 years ago!) and soon had us on the road and smiling in car #5 from Honda of Tyson’s Corner! Many thanks to Ozcan, Gabriel Olivera, and the whole team at Ourisman for making our car buying experience as pleasant and painless as possible. They’re real pros!
