Although it hardly appears on the visit to Chicago, it is very beautiful inside with wooden ceilings and an imposing organ. It is close to Navy Pier if you are walking, in a very stately neighborhood.

Magnificent Cathedral and peaceful escape to get away from the business and spend dome quality time talking with our Lord.

This beautiful neo-Gothic style cathedral is the seat of the Archdiocese of Chicago, one of the most important in the country. It was rebuilt in 1874 after the great fire of 1871. But like the rest of the Catholic churches, it remains closed for a good part of the day. A real pity for the visitor.

I went to the 7:30 mass tonight. There is barely any music. There's not even a cantor to lead any music or even someone to play the piano. Even the parts of the mass that are normally sung, are spoken.
