No real sense of urgency is demonstrated here, either from the in-office staff or the back room people whose job it is to follow-up on cases: it took over two weeks for a callback that was promised in 1-2 days. During the wait they had no self-awareness of my case, and indicated that my paperwork had been lost. Eventually I got the call and was approved for the benefits I came for, and my final visit went off without a hitch.

I dont understand how everyone is complaining about this office. This office is faster, more polite, cleaner, and actually fills out paperwork correctly. The people complaining should go to the blue island facility and then come back here talk about a massive failure that one is This is by far the nicest dhs office in Chicago. Period.

I wish I didn't have the need to deal with them. They are rude, condescending, late, they don't want to answer questions and get the person I dealt with acted as if she were doing me a favor by being there. I have never felt more demeaned in my life if I didn't desperately need the help I would just forget it it's almost not worth it .

Everything is done either online or through the 1-800 number on the back of your SNAP card. You can also look this number up and call to set up a quick interview request and they will call you back within 2 days
It’s always best to go to the office. It’s the public aid office take a book to read be prepared to wait.
U probably need an MPR. Its due midway through your year.
You can complete an application on line or inthe office. You will need your paystubs, 30 days worth if employed, self employed or report any unearned income, etc.
Go to the office and request a copy. You can also call but it will take longer because they only send them by mail.
It's open weekdays until 5 p.m , and u get a number once you enter
