Eastern Plumas health care ambulance responded to a medical emergency at lake Davis for us and was the absolute best personnel that I have ever been around. These individuals should be the industry standard in emergency medical care period. They cared for my loved one like it was their own. From the fire fighters to the EMT’s this outfit is second to none with the most humble attitude around. You guys are fantastic and you absolutely need to hear it! Thanks!

The doctors at this clinic are generally quite good. However, getting messages to my doctor is unnecessarily difficult and this has everything to do with the clinics inability/unwillingness to help patients who call in. This is to say they lack the social and healthcare skills a patient should reasonably expect from a health clinic, particularly during the pandemic.. If there were a way I could get to a different clinic, I most certainly would. Here is an example of what I recently experienced: I noticed that I had, in a brief space of time, developed several symptoms of COVID-19. I am 67 years-old and have M.S. so I realized I needed to get tested a.s.a.p. I called the clinic in the morning, was told my doctor was in the clinic and would fax a request to the laboratory in order for me to get tested. More than four hours later the lab still had not gotten a request. I began to get very frustrated, called my doctor again, was told he was seeing other patients who “had appointments” so I would have to wait until he had time. (Interestingly, my husband, who is seen at a different clinic, got a referral for the test within an hour.) When I had not heard anything 3 hours later, I called again and once again told my doctor was still seeing other patients. Finally, I called the lab directly and was told I did not have to wait for the referral; they said there was an infectious disease specialist who would make sure I got tested immediately. What I cannot understand is why no one at the clinic was aware that I did not need to wait for a fax from my doctor. (The clinic is across a small parking lot from the lab!) It was another indication that staff at the clinic are generally indifferent to the needs of patients.

While the facility was crowded and very busy, I received 5-star personal care from emergency room Dr. Ken Robinson and ER nurse and tech who did my X-rays and CAT scan on 7/5/17. This is not a large facility, but the service I received was as good as any big hospital ER I've experienced.
