I just started volunteering here. They take good care of the animals and the facility is clean.

It was a pound. It's difficult to say one way or the other. Seems like everytime I go their to either look at a rescue or to look for a dog for my mother with Alzimers they weren't very sympathetic about helping me locate a small little lap dog for mom to hold. They always tell me I have to check online, then it's first come first serve. I've been first in line on Monday morning after seeing a dog online Friday or Saturday and they will tell me "oh that one has already been adopted " How? I was first in line!!!! Then I ask if I can leave my number because I'm in a wheelchair and it's very difficult for me to drive up there and then be told "that one is already gone"! This happens more often than not! How is a person with limited income supposed to find a lap dog for his Mother fighting Alzimers? I'd like to know!!!! Anyone that can help me please reply to this post......

I adopted a hamster! The dude helping me was nice and helpful, but left me to wrangle the hamster from the cage myself. I'm a fairly experienced hamster owner, but trying to tease a shy little guy into a tunnel to trap him for transport isn't something I'm 100% confident with yet. The building also smells like urine. I was mainly in the lobby so idk about the rest of the building, but it smelled pretty bad. The shelter overall appears clean aside from that. Overall, a decent small animal adoption experience.

They need to deep clean the kennels, the building really smells bad. The service is good...but really need to keep up with cleaning.

Are you scheduling appt. for shots for pets?
Didn't know they gave free shots. Would like to know that as well.

Yes, they have many adoptable animals. Yes, you and your daughter can go to a meet and greet. You need your ID plus adoption fee and you're good to go. My fur baby is happy and healthy!
Second Monday & Friday of each month* from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., and On the last Friday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 noon.* https://www.arlingtontx.gov/city_hall/departments/animal_services/services___programs/low-_cost_vet_services
To: person who can't keep pets...Find a "No Kill" Shelter or homes for them! (Flyers in Laundromat s sometimes helps)
Yes you can. You will need an id
https://www.arlingtontx.gov/city_hall/departments/animal_services/volunteer_opportunities
They are currently extremely understaffed :/
You'll have to go into their main office to apply.
Apply online on the website for the City of Arlington.
I think so in addition they loan traps as part of their feral cat TNR program at no cost.. nice safe traps too...
You can put in your volunteer application on their website. They do an orientation class every month
I'm sure they will, but I'm looking for kittens for my cat
I barely got mine. She was on "critical list". She would have died the next day. Go up there. She's one of the best dogs I have ever had.
Arlington is a kill shelter, but with a kitten, I'm almost positive it was rescued by a group or adopted. Check them out on FB, sometimes they will put the fur-babies in their adoption section. Thank you for what you did :) you gave the baby a chance.
All kind of animals best of luck " awesomeness shelter for animals🐶🐺🐱🐭🐹🐰🐦🐴🐼🐧🐢
Sure
It is around 100, unless they are on the Urgent list, then 25
Full list with pictures on the city website
I dropped off a gray and white kitten with a fancy tail maybe 8 month named Mao she is very playful please see if you can see her she loves laser pointer and is quite the talker at times she looks like a maincoon or mix of maincoon beautiful cat I had no time for her and wanted her to be happy
That is super unfortunate but yes, you can return an adoption. The shelter is at full capacity right now though (im a volunteer there) any chance you can hold onto him a little longer? Good luck.😥
Yes but since u have taken care of it more than 3 days it's considered yours. If you turn it over it will cost $25
Apply for a TX ID card at any drivers license office. Even if you don't drive, you need a state ID card.
U need to check the website or come in
Yes, there is a drop off door on the left side of the building.
Was he chipped? You can always call the office and ask if they picked him up. You can also look online under lost pets.
Start by completing the Volunteer application on their website.
Yes you can certainly call in and describe the circumstances and have them check on the welfare of the animal. Please report 🙏
You will have to contact the shelter directly for this type of information.
Best to call & talk with the professionals
Call the emergency number for animal services!
Yes, you can. My apologies for the late response.
Yes, you have to make an appointment. I'm not sure if there is a cost.
Yes I saw as soon as you enter, there is a corner that people donated dog food, cat food and supplies
call animal control and they will take the dog away and put him up for adoption to someone who cares for them better
Not yesterday
Tao once is because they still keep the same dogs and it has not appeared. I suggest you go in person with a photo of your dog and your information to make the process more effective
What kind of pet are you surrendering and why?
If you call Animal Control they will come and do their job you just have to let them know exactly what it is you calling them about and what you want them to do
Yes at animal shelter in Arlington Texas
Don't understand your question
Animals are listed on their web site, and while social distancing remains in effect you can setup an appointment to meet inside (first come, first serve).
I believe you can come to the shelter and talk to them.
I think it depends on what you need done. What's going on?
Lord I hope not ... What a great question.. Yes they should never get another animal.. I will find out and let you know asap
Agree w/Jay Fanning. Arlington is definitely a kill shelter. I barely was able to save my fur baby. She was scheduled to die the day after I was there. Thank God we made it.
Hoy may post an ad in craigslist, offer up or Facebook market place, some people may help you
I don't think so but you should call first to find out their occupancy level
How many do you need. I can send my kid and wife
Consider putting up a flyer for a week. You never know what the outcome is after you turn them in. If you have the ability to I encourage you. But if you aren't able to, put up flyers and let them know where they were surrendered to. The owner can be looking. Some animals are so afraid of fireworks and gun shots. Could be pure accident. I forgot to suggest taking to vet to check for chip.
I'd go to the vet. You get to stay with them and know it was done with care.
Not sure honestly. However I would guess you would have to set that up first. Almost any volunteer work especially involving people or animals they do a check on you first, not in all cases though.
You call the non emergency police dispatcher. It's not a complaint. You file a police report.
There are several surrendered animals at the shelter. I got mine for $25. They work well with the public to re-home animals.
I would suggest going up ASAP and having a meet and greet with the dog. The good ones go fast. As for pricing, that can vary. Bring family as well. Let the dog get a chance to be around the people it will be with. To make sure everyone gets along.
Yes
What do you mean?
Take the dog to shelter
Contact TCap https://www.texasforthem.org They have specials.
Do you mean boarding?? Like for vacation? No they do not offer that.
Usually happens when shelter is full.
You would take them to a no-kill shelter and you should be blacklisted, from there.
They can take them. I've taken many letters of stray kittens there.
I am finding out right now
Yes you can call them
Any age, but if you want them to be adopted, you should bring them after they are weaned, over 2 months old and over 2 lbs. They should be socialized so they play with people and are not scared.
I believe its 13 and up, but 17 and under have to be accompanied by a parent at all times.
You have to check daily since there are so many dogs. But to be honest they don't adopt out to many pure breeds. They give them to rescues who end up charging like $200 or more to adopt the dog. It's totally not fair. 😢
It depends on what specials are going on at the time, you can go to their webpage and it should tell you there.
Try here? https://www.arlingtontx.gov/city_hall/departments/animal_services/services___programs/lost_and_found_pets
Not typically. Check out Wings of Love Bird Haven in Red Oak Texas or search www.petfinder.com
I'm assuming your pet needs a Rabies Vaccine? You can contact them, I'm not sure if they also work as a vet to outside animals.
Call the shelters near you. Post your dog picture on near by streets.
Under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
I believe the shelter does it for like $20.
Yes absolutely and its free to drop of found animals. But there is a $25 charge to surrender your pet.
I think so, they have a designated area for that
TCAP, has dental services as well. Whatever you decide just remember the sooner the better, as periodontal disease is SOOOOO painful for ANYONE even our pups. He may need antibiotic treatment prior to surgery but call TCAP. THEYRE in Arlington a couple times a month, Burelson and Hurst and other places. They're GREAT!
You can go to the animal shelter web site and see what animals they have
You can check the web site for all the few information
Yes, you have to set an appointment. However, if you adopt from there, they set an appointment for your new furry family member to get spayed or neutered, which is covered in the adoption fees.
Yes, TNR-Trap, neuter, release. Call the shelter for more info.
Yes, I got complete medical records when I adopted my pet
If you can't get him the veterinary care he needs, please take him to the shelter. They may be able to help.
Call the shelter at (817)459-5898. Their hours are 10 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday. 10-4 on Saturday and closed on Sundays. Most likely you will need to contact your veterinarian for the services you are wanting.
Call the shelter and ask if some of them can be caught and neutered.
Take him to the veterinarian.
What? Find the dog first, I would assume.
Arlington animal shelter will accept them, but be aware they'll ask for a small fee to take them. That fee is put towards care-associated costs. There are other shelters and groups that will take them as well, just look around. You can also try to find homes for them through your friends/neighbors, Facebook, and sites like craigslist/petfinder. If you list the pets on a site like Craigslist or petfinder, even if you plan to give them away for free, I would recommend attaching a small fee to the listing. This helps drive away people who may not be serious about caring for a pet, or people who may have more... Negative intents for the animals. For instance, advertise the kittens for sale for a $30 adoption fee. If a potential owner comes to purchase a kitten, waive the fee (give it to them for free), and explain why there was a fee attached to the listing. If you decide to keep or foster the kittens, please consider a low-cost vaccination or spay/neuter clinic! Good luck!
They certainly are! :)
There is an animal shelter in Grand Prairie near the police station (and the new city owned water park) off of the toll road.
I cant imagine they would put any dog down immediately. The people at this shelter take excellent care of all the animals here and I know from experience they want to get all the animals back home!
You can but they will charge $20/cat. Cause they see it as a surrender.
Unfortunately you must me 18 without a parent
Not to me but you can take the kitten there at no charge
Ok so me and my neighbor found the calico and she has two kittens will they be euthanized or adopted out?
I think if you have not taken care of it for 2? days you can still give it to them
10 but must have a parent volunteering with them. 18 on their own
If you take the kitten to the shelter, the veterinarian will take a look and give the kitten meds unless the kitten is deemed untreatable. If you can contact a cat rescue org, even better. Look on the Internet for cat rescues such as Averting Cat-astrophe and Buddies Place Cat Rescue. They might be able to take the kitten and will get it the vet care needed. Good luck!
So they charge a fee?? Is seems to be a nice pit bull and its trained however these dogs are to big and my daughter.has COPD or i would put flyers out.
No. Only people who are serious can meet with 2 animals. You can always come to the shelter and volunteer. Go to the website and fill out an application. Once you have done that you will chose a date for orientation. After all your paperwork and background have been approved then you will get a shirt which is $10 and you will go to the city and get your City ID. Then you will be able to volunteer.
It depends on the rescue group. They do a home inspection. If the apartment complex has no rules against it you could probably qualify, especially for a small dog or kittens.
Have you ever had a child taken away from you well I'm sorry that's how it feels to me it's been 8 1/2 years and I'm still not complete without him I never knew how to go about finding him I tried but never no lucki started believing he was not at a pound but at some one's house it hurt to find out that sweet Jones that he was not. I pray I will have my Jones back he really is one if the kids. I would do what ever it takes to get him back. I just need that void in my heart to be completely filled.
Yes you can return the dog
Are you on Facebook? PAAS has a Facebook page with available animals and so does the city website. I would say there are nearly always little dogs available
It's worth it to pay the price as all animals are spayed and neutered and have all shots including rabies and city license. It's a bargain. Some animals are $25 if they are urgent for whatever reason. Sometimes only because they've been there too long.
You will need to go on the website, they update it regularly with photos of dogs in the kennels.
I have to surrender my senior cat. She started urinating in the house. We took her to the vet and she was declared in good health. We can no longer take care of her. Can you help?
Look for local Tcap clinics or events near you. Petco and petsmart as well as pet supply plus normal post events or phone numbers and addresses of neutering locations.
Yes but if you do you sign a paper and pay. Surrender at the first door on your left facing the building
They do sometimes. You can look online and see what is up for adoption
They do not board animals. This is the City of Arlington Animal Shelter.
Today the shelter has a special on all adoptable dogs. 1/2 off the normal fee, so today it is $50. Normal fee is $100.
I called at 10 am. They were very helpful and responded quickly.
You will need to call or come to the shelter. If you call you will need the Id number I'm a volunteer there
No. I volunteer there. They will reopen tomorrow
Or check Facebook. Both PAAS and FAAS network shelter animals. The shelter also has a Facebook page
Check tge website. Normally we don't and the youngest at the shelter is 3mo. Any younger is at foster homes but will show on website.
Good luck
Don't think I've seen him. Try calling between 10am and 4pm
You can check online or come in
We adopt out. You just have to check online or come by and see if we have any huskys
I think so
Spaying and neutering is included in the adoption fee. I'm not sure if the vet does spays for the public. You would have to call and ask.
Call and ask. I'm not sure, but I've never seen them there.
No. You will be fined. The area is video monitored
Yea
Check the online site for lost pets
Or go to a petco in Mansfield and go look at the cats and find carries number she's the founder of that group. It should be listed on a clipboard on each cats cage. Catastrophy. She normally rescues from the shelters or can direct you to the right person.
I'm so sorry she couldn't help u
You can volunteer which would allow you to interact with the cats.
No food after midnight. I volunteer at the shelter and just had my dog spayed there
They must have been busy. Only so many officers and more calls then man power. Sorry.
Yes but there is a waiting list
Shelter doesn't provide vet services
I believe that it is 25 dollars, but if your pet is not adopted in time it will be killed.
Yes. It will cost $25 fee. It's a city fee for surrendering.
