The administration was very nice, polite, and helpful with booking our ride. Arriving at the ranch, everyone was so welcoming. Our trail guide Arnold was very professional and informative. We even met the owner and he was very friendly and excited to have us at Diamond P Ranch! We are looking forward to coming back for another visit at Diamond P Ranch.

Had a great time horseback riding. I had the horse Rosie and she was great. Albert was out trails guide and as authentic of a cowboy you could find. Definitely west long pants (I’d recommend jeans) because you are going through trials that that trees that can scratch you.

Hello, Do you let experienced riders lope your horses, and go a little on our own.. Or is is all slow in a file all the time??

No one in this area will let you take a horse on your own and gallop! The insurance cost is too high to risk this! We don’t ride on private land we ride into the National Forest! We are required to have a $2,000,000 liability policy and we can’t afford accidents. We do however have private rides that you can pay extra ride the ride and then go into our arena on private ground and loop. It is supervised with a guide. I have no idea how well you ride! I would rather you fall off in 6” of sand verse on rocks, boulders and big logs. For more information please call me at (208) 317-7498. My name is Rex Portmann I am the owner. Thank you

what is the weight limit for riding

Kimberly Miles | Oct 11, 2019
Kelsey Berteaux | Oct 11, 2019

Yes. They have big horses and smaller horses and can accommodate most weights. Anyone over 300 poundswe will not be able to accommodate for the safety of the horse can be at risk. Don’t be afraid of not being able to get on or off your horse. You will have assistance getting on and off the horse, so come have fun.

do they have horse trailer hookups, can you bring your own horses, and are dogs allowed if kept in living quarters or horse trailer?

Tonya Wood | Oct 11, 2019
Meagan Kelsey | Oct 11, 2019

Hello Tonya! Yes we do have trailer hook ups call ahead to reserve a spot and we can talk pricing. You are allowed to BYOH (bring your own horse) we will need all the paperwork that comes with them if you are staying with us (or traveling with them anywhere in the US). Dogs are allowed to stay in your living quarters, there will be other people on the campgrounds as well though so we ask that you pick up after yourself and your dog and that your dog be well behaved.

What happens if you have reservations for horses and it rains during our scheduled time? What if we reserve 8 horses but only need 7 when we get there?

Kim Colledge | Oct 11, 2019
Rex Portmann | Oct 11, 2019

Hi Kim, As far as rain goes we do have rain gear for all of our riders. We took a group of 6-out yesterday in the snow. However if you decide to cancel due to rain we will refund your 10% deposit. Also if you reserve 8 horses but only need 7 we will adjust your invoice at the end of the ride. We have people do that all the time they need more or less horses. We will work with you. We look forward to meeting you. Thanks Rex
