Great experience. The beach is Sandy and much larger than you would expect. The beach was also very clean when I think of other beaches I've been visited. The water was relatively clean for Lake water. The depth gradually increases but at a pretty slow pace, it seemed about 30 yards out the water was about 6 ft. The beach is a great place to take children as it's fairly spread out but I didn't see any overly inebriated or people acting in ways that you wouldn't want your children to see. I got to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July that were staged at the beach but I was on a boat so this was the first time actually going to the beach and I don't have anything to complain about. Plenty of parking with a, in my opinion, perfect distance from the car to the waters edge. The bottom of the beach is sand for a couple of feet into the water and gradually turns to a soft clay/stone bottom which is not covered in algae or seaweed. The size of the beach made it at first appear to be a little more crowded than other swimming spots, but when I got to the beach, I realized that size of the beach left plenty of space for someone to lay a towel down on the beach for themselves or their family without feeling crowded.

A beautiful warm lake, pretty rocks, and shade and grills are provided. There's also a dock nearby.

Great family activity! There is a generous swimming area, nice sandy beach, and covered picnic tables. Nearby trail leads to the beautiful scenic spillway, where overflow from the lake tumbles over majestic stones.

Must have a sponsored guest pass to enter the beach area. You can get the pass at either East or West gate. You must have someone who owns property in the village to call you in as a sponsored guest. Hope this helps
Yes. If you have a work pass you can.
The Balboa beach is in the Hot Springs Village which is a privately owned gated community. You have me a current resident, be invited by a current resident, rent property, or be sponsored in some way in order to enjoy any of the amenities, including the beaches.
