I would give this property 6 stars if I could. The property is located right on the river bank with a nice and fully private approach to get in the river to soak or kayak or just lay back and watch birds. The cabin is tastefully and thoughtfully appointed with every creature comfort you need. The fire pit isn’t just for s’mores. It is the perfect spot for generally sitting around to look at the moon and the river. The fur babies (2 dogs and a crew of cats) are well-trained to give you as much company as you like or give you space if you need it. They regularly accompanied me and my son as went for strolls through our stay. The hosts are warm, welcoming and made us feel like it was our own home. Besides all the things you’d expect in a stay like this, the simple joy of sitting by a fire pit on a river bank, chatting and laughing with good people are things that money can’t buy. We will definitely go back here.

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at the River Bird and had a wonderful time! It was the perfect location for a weekend of fun as well as relaxation! The Kiamichi river is just at the edge of the property so during the day we enjoyed kayaking while at night we made ourselves comfortable on the porch as we listened to the sounds of the river. We also took advantage of some fishing as there are several lakes nearby to choose from. The owners are wonderful people who were very friendly and accommodating from the time we booked our stay until we pulled out of the driveway to head back home. We hope to go back as soon as possible!

Beautiful, calm, peaceful place to relax and take in the fresh air. The cottage suites are super cute, clean and comfy! :) All the conveniences of home without having to bring a lot of extra stuff with you on vacation. The bed was super comfortable and I don't think I have slept better in my life. The views of the mountain and river are breathtaking! :)
