Site A7 is our favorite. It’s large and level, has a nice view of the cove, and we’ll shaded.

Fall camping was great. Stayed in A area, nice park/basketball, plumbed and clean restrooms. Just up hill from the lake but easily accessible. We carried the kayaks down with no issues. The Crabtree Cove Trailhead is just a short drive down the road. The trail is nice and easy with a round trip of about 3.7 miles. I took a 8, 12, and 14 yr old and they all had a wonderful time.

Great place to camp & hike this time of year. Rock quarry near the dam.

"Shoulder Season (no reservations) Crabtree Cove is open during our "shoulder season" which runs from October 1 through November 30 and again March 15 through April 15. The cost is $10 for electric and basic sites. Water is shut off during this time so you need to bring water. Winter Season (no reservations) Crabtree Cove is also open during the winter (December 1 - March 14) with no camping fees but the electricity and water are both shut off. Feel free to call our office at 417-276-3113 if you still have questions."
They vary depending on the attendant. They are usually at camp offices in the afternoon. Most of them do their work in the mornings. This is very typical, but not a sure thing.
