As a patient that went in for suicidal thoughts, this facility along with majority of the staff made my stay comfortable and easy. I was treated with the upmost respect. My opinions were respected, they accommodated me to the fullest they can, if I was hungry they went out their day to run downstairs to bring either snacks or a spare lunch. If any type of mistreatment was done it was never the staff, patients tend to come and automatically refuse treatment as to i can't believe this facility isn't 4-5 stars like it should be. If I was feeling down there was always a staff member I could talk to 24/7, whether it was early in the morning or super late at night. The food is decent like an 8.5/10. The doctors listen to everything we have to say, therapists also. I would personally like to thank Vince, Bryan, Tyreese, TJ, Momma Jacky, Camila, Kia, Ms.K, Noah, Eiesha, Mr.Alvin and Dr.Saphi for running Springwood Behavioral Health Hospital like a family and not a job. They definitely made a huge impact, the laughs and serious moments. They were always fair. The only thing that didn't make it 5 stars was that my clothes were lost other than that I personally would recommend this place for someone in need. - Migo/Saeso/Jason

Springwood is the WORST FACILITY TO SEND YOUR CHILD FOR MENTAL HEALTH HELP!! MY DAUGHTER SELF HARMED THE ENTIRE TIME SHE WAS UNDER THEIR CARE. SHE TOLD THE STAFF AS WELL AS I DID THAT HER MEDS WERE NOT WORKING YET THEY DISCHARGED HER ANYWAYS. THE PSYCHIATRIST DIDN'T EVEN SEND THE RIGHT PRESCRIPTIONS HOME WITH HER THAT WERE GIVEN IN FACILITY. THE THERAPIST CHRISTINA LITERALLY TOLD ME GOOD LUCK FINDING HER LONG TERM HELP SINCE WE ARE ON MEDICAID!! MY DAUGHTERS MENTAL HEALTH HAS RAPIDLY DECLINED SINCE HER STAY AT SPRINGWOOD!! IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE 0 STARS I WOULD THEY DON'T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR!! PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE ALLOWING YOUR CHILD HERE YOU WILL REGRET SENDING THEM I KNOW I AM!!! WHY ASK FOR MY CONTACT INFORMATION KATIE? IT'S NOT LIKE YALL HAVE CONTACTED ME TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER. IT'S CUTE THAT YOU ASK FOR PEOPLE'S INFORMATION LIKE YOU REALLY CARE!! I just found out They deleted my first review, which I made months ago. Very unprofessional. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Staff members seem completely clueless and as if they have never seen a mentally ill person before, despite working in a mental hospital. Treatment is 100% compliance based, they do not care about what is actually going on or about treating your illnesses. They care that you blindly do what you are told and that you do not stand up for yourself or self-advocate. They do not take into account individual needs and differences, and force everyone into the exact same treatment. Even after explaining multiple times to multiple different staff members that the things they were forcing you to do are making you worse. They don’t care. They will not believe (or care about) a single thing you tell them, they just want you to shut up, take the medication, and pretend to be okay. You will be treated like sub-human here, with zero dignity or respect. It has been nearly 6 months since i was discharged from this facility and i still have constant flashbacks and nightmares from this place. I have tried twice now to get in contact with a representative to file a complaint and they do not respond.

I'm so sorry for what happened to you & the arrangement that you're seeking is profound! Unfortunately, that's actually something to ask the courts. If they aren't willing to help, you can reach out to your local church & they can recommend a few Christian based organizations to help. Of course, that's hoping he's willing & that it's his religious preference, too. If he has a different religion, I'm sure they will help, too! I wish you all the best.
Honestly, no this is where you come when you have mental issues you can't control and need some additional help also comes with counseling intervention involving family as well
I would like to say my 13 year old daughter was taken there and they medicated here without giving her any blood work to see if she has a chemical imbalance or any other hormonal issues. I do not recommend this facility.

I would say if he is harm to himself take him to er and I'm pretty sure they will intake him there. They will take you if you dont have insurance just put u on a payment plan
When my son was there they allowed an adult friend from church to visit. They never asked if he was family to my knowledge. He was with me, mom.

For inpatient care, adolescents can use the phone for 15 minutes either in the morning or evening. Visitation is one a week with family therapy once a week also. Family therapy seems more like an informational session.
9:45am is when the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) starts.
