Would rather see a cat die than go to a good home. You and Murray should feel real proud.

A huge thank you to Stephanie, Morgan, and Bailey for all of their help! They were all so kind, patient, and flexible working with us to ensure Henry would be a good fit for our family. We were so excited to give Henry a new home!

The staff helped us do multiple meet and greets with our existing dog and a new dog we wanted to adopt. They took their time and helped the dogs get used to each other before bringing them home. Very nice and professional and I couldn't recommend them more!

Please check out Emporia Kansas Animal Shelter on Petfinder. We do post our adoptable animals there and it allows you to get a little preface before heading to the shelter.

Does it cost to take puppies there?

Humane Society Flint Hills | May 13, 2022

Yes, as we are a no surrender shelter due to our small capacity. When we can accommodate surrenders, there is an intake process and surrender fee. We also have a waiting list and request that people call before showing up in regards to bringing stray/surrender animals.

How do I surrender a kitten

Wendy Jansen | Oct 11, 2019
Humane Society Flint Hills | May 13, 2022

Our EAS is a no surrender shelter. Please be careful to not take the kitten away from it's mother who is often nearby getting food, if it is a stray. You can also reach out to the other great local kitty rescues in town that are more able to care around the clock for young kittens.

We have a 5 year old rat terrier that has been an inside dog that needs a new home as we both are working out of town now and moving to a place where he isn’t allowed. Our home for him has backed out leaving us in a bind.
