Love The Fellowship Warm Welcome and Rev. Darryl Person

Yet another of my favorite splendid church edifice's in the City of Chicago. Ebenezer Baptist Church began its long storied life in 1899. Designed by famed Chicago architect Dankmar Adler (Louis Sullivan's partner). Originally a synagogue, the building was purchased by the black Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church congregation in 1921. ———————————— "During the Great Migration of the 1900s, scores of blacks who transferred to Chicago from the South settled in Bronzeville and made Ebenezer their church home. Throughout the years, Ebenezer developed a reputation as a center for gospel music. Thomas Dorsey, the father of gospel music, introduced his blend of Christian praise and blues at Ebenezer and started the first gospel choir here. The pulpit and pews of Ebenezer have hosted its share of historical politicians, ministers and vocal artists. During the 30-year pastorate of Rev. Frank K.Sims, distinguished guests of our church included Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Ralph Metcalfe, Adam Clayton Powell and Mahalia Jackson." This is a beautiful edifice in the Bronzeville area of Chicago south side. Come visit on any Sunday at 11:00 A.M.

Rev. Persons delivered a sermon, that blessed me with the comfort I needed with the sudden passing of my sister. I went to Ebenezer with a friend as a guest I was truly rewarded. God has truly blessed Reverend Person and Ebenezer Baptist church
